Don’t be fooled into thinking that this establishment has anything to do with the adjacent Tempo gas station: two separate businesses entirely. DORIS is what makes Country Roads Restaurant a real treat to visit. Honestly still the best breakfast I’ve ever had, served up with a smile and fresh coffee refills by DORIS, who never fails to make it a pleasant meal. The entire family that owns and operates Country Roads Restaurant is engaging and competent in every way, but DORIS is who really stands out. Cannot say enough great things about DORIS. If you’re on Highway 16 and you want a tasty, large-portion meal, check out Country Roads Restaurant. Be sure to ask for DORIS!
Worst place I ever ate. The breakfast menu showed a hamburger scrambler bowl smothered in cheese. There was no hamburger and next to no cheese. The waitress kept picking at my food saying there’s a bit of hamburger there. I did not see any. I ate two bites and left. I was still charged full price. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I can’t believe all the negative reviews this place is getting it is one of the best food I have ever had it was a friendly atmosphere and every time I go their the restaurant is packed thats how good it is people will fill up a restaurant to have some great tasting food I will always come back to this place one of my favorite restaurant
So sad this is in our back yard. Next time our family will make the trip into town before eating their microwaved 20 dollar steak and painfully slow service sad for a truck stop.
There’s a reason for all the repeat business!. Reading a couple of negative reviews on this restaurant, I was almost sure these others were writing about a completely different place! Country Roads has tons of regulars who keep going back year after year precisely because the food and service IS that good. We frequent this spacious, roadside restaurant every chance we get (especially breakfast) because you can always count on the down-to-earth fare being just right and quick, efficient service. Yes, it is a Lebanese family-run establishment and their staff has a colorful, engaging personality but if you really want bland waiters, go to one of the boring chains, instead. If you want quick, good food done properly for a decent price, try Country Roads Restaurant on Highway 16.
Was just truckin by on hwy 16 and decided to stop at this place. Walked in service was good really nice and polite waitress.I got the chicken club and clam chowdrr. the food came SUPER fast almost too fast lol. Heres the bad news the sandwich was dry as the sahara desert, and really bland i only ate half and then started getting weird feelings about this place.its a pretty weird vibe…im never coming back thats for sure…..
Great food, friendly service. Try the grilled cheese or the chicken fingers. Classic roadside country diner.
