Man. I really wanted to score this place a 3.0 but there’s just something crawling in my mind when it comes to scoring this. I don’t like bugs and this pho place reminds me of bugs crawling all over me as I try to enjoy a bowl of pho here. Strange feeling, really. There’s absolutely no bugs there but the restaurant is like a dark scene from an insect movie. It’s scary. Now we got that out of the way, the service was slow and the food actually tasted alright if you don’t mind getting skimped out on meats. I dreaded eating there. My friends dragged me there out of convenience and that reminds me – the only thing saving this place is the location. If it’s -30C outside, are you really going to warm up your car and drive a block or two from WEM to eat at La Pagode? The food probably tastes the same but I don’t get weird insect crawly feeling there. LOL. Anyways, you know what place I really want to try? The Vietnamese place outside of T&T (Hoang Long?). That place doesn’t give me the creeps but boy oh boy I am just scared to eat there. Mental blocks for the win. Try this place out if you are desperately hungry after T&T and you don’t want T&T food. Last resort, OK?
A lesser pho place. I wouldn’t say its *bad* food per se but its not special. its just regular, uneventful soup. For a place to really sell its self with one feature menu item like all pho places do it really needs to be good. there is none of the rich, savoury meatiness/butteriness of the beef marrow and none of the complexity of the spices that makes pho pho. I’ve been to a number of pho places as of late and this is very low on the list.
Bad service from the waitress there. My friend wave at her to order our food but was ignored totally. She just stand there and chat with her friend. I call out for her and was ignored or just not paying attention. Would not go there again.
Pho place at wem inside tnt, terrible service and cheapskates. Ordered pho, and they gave the beansprouts were about 25% of what they normally give you from any other pho location, this is for TWO PEOPLE!! i asked for more and they came out with the same amount, 25% of the plate no mint either both times. I asked again a 3rd time for another plate, Server tells me they are Out of beansprouts, HOW DOES A PHO PLACE RUN OUT OF BEANSPROUTS?, i knew instantly this was BS!. I said id even pay for it, since i enjoy my pho with besnsprouts, i dont mind paying more to enjoy my meal. Again he said its out. Ok.. so i waited to see and as i expected its BS, they brought out beansprouts as normal for new customers. I called them out, and it took 5 employees to lie to me, all 5 said beansprouts just came in. Complete garbage lol, how much it cost? 30 cents per plate? Even had it came in, you would remember i asked for beansprouts and bring it out, bad service and bunch of liars.
Don’t go there!!!. Worse place to go for pho. Food is mediocre, terrible service and restaurant is quite dirty looking. Every time I go there, I have to wait so long to get any service, even if I am sitting across the servers. They just don’t care for any customer service or quality of food. Save yourself and don’t ever eat there!!!
Pho Noodle no taste.. I love pho noodle. I’m addicted to it. I’ve tried so many that Pho noodle is the only food I eat at Vietnamese restaurant. This place was very disappointing. Pho noodle soup looks great out side, amount of meats & noodle and additional soy sprouts & herbs are decent. However, soup has no taste. it seemed like chef didn’t boiled meat & tendons long enough to get base taste. I do not think I will come back here again. I have to say I was very sad that I don’t get many chance eating Pho noodle (since I live up north). This trip was only time I get the chance, but truly disappointed.
Great Pho soup with a healthy portion of noodles and meat!
