The Cake is a Lie. Icing – dry and overly sweet with little flavor. Cake – dry and flavorless. Fillings – what fillings. The pictures show fillings but it amounts to a pea sized dollop hidden under the icing. These things are overpriced crap. I’ll drive to Whyte Ave. from now on.
Stale and dried out. Overpriced crappy cupcakes. Boo. 🙁
The smell was the best part. Once Upon A Time, we were walking past a crystal case of cupcakes, and the smell over took us. The thought of having something moist and sweet as we got home from walking around the mall over took us, just like Goldie Locks had while standing in front of the porridge. There were four of us, mouths watering and could not decide. The cupcake fairy clerk convinced us to purchase six, as we would get a better bang for our buck. As we drove home, the smell filled our vehicle and the excitement grew. We got home and cut into them and then… reality sunk in, our fairy tale died and the smell was the best part. Out of the six different cupcakes, they all tasted the same, as there was no taste at all. They were dry and crumbled into almost nothing. It felt like we were eating dry sand. Would I buy them again? Probably not. But I will stand outside the crystal cupcake case and smell what they should have been, a moist rich cupcake. So, next time I stand there, I will not impulse buy; but, rather I will drive down the road to the next closest cupcake boutique.
Worst cupcakes I’ve ever had! Cake was dry and icing had no flavor. I unfortunately bought 4 different cupcakes which cost me $14. To bad I hadn’t read these reviews first. Don’t waste your money! Go buy a box a box of Duncan Hines because they will turn out a hundred times better
Pleasantly surprised. I read some pretty bad reviews about this cupcake stand before trying them out. I was a little leery to say the least. I ended up splurging and buying a dozen, I got their version of red velvet, skor, chocolate peanut butter and a chocolate with cheesecake icing and filling. All four varieties were moist and flavorful, they definitely satisfied my cupcake craving. I appreciated that there was not a mile high of icing, there was a great balance of icing to cake. The next day I sampled one of the cupcakes I bought and still moist. The cupcakes are small for the price. There are cupcake places that are just as good for a cheaper price and a bigger cupcake. However, I figure when you are at a tourist destination merchandise tends to be a bit more pricy. When at West Edmonton Mall in the future, I would definitely go back to fulfill any impending cupcake cravings.
Cupcakes are really lacking and are seriously overpriced.
Waste of money. The display looks so good and the cupcakes were a huge waste of money. Two cupcakes were $8 and I’m pretty sure they had been sitting out there for a few days as they were dry and crumbly. Don’t let the display fool you, these cupcakes are horrible.
