I really enjoyed this place. Its very small with table/bar tops set up to stand and eat. We didnt know what to expect when showing up so we were happy we would could eat quick inside as we had other errands to run after. Staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and options. We chose the 5 piece southern fried chicken and the small chipotle corn & bean salad. It was delicious. Great fried chicken, lots of meat and a delicious batter. Definitely check it out for a quick bite or take out. We saw a lot of people coming for take out !
This place is all about the southern fried chicken! They also have rotisserie chicken but I think the fried chicken is the highlight here. Got the 5 pieces southern fried chicken, fries, gravy and the chipotle corn and bean salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy golden brown and crunchy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The fries were standard but the corn and bean salad was really fresh and tasty. The gravy was the only thing i disliked. It tasted really off, so that was disappointing to throw out a container of gravy. As much as I enjoyed trying this place, it was a bit of a letdown with no tables and chairs…or even barstools instead of having to stand and eat at the side counter. Service was really friendly and helpful and were happily singing in the kitchen! I am glad to have finally tried this place, but the fried chicken didnt wow me as much as I was hoping. Maybe some spices or more seasoning wouldve enhanced it.
Went there with a girlfriend as we wanted something quick and we were starving for lunch. In a nutshell: Our lunch was quick and very tasty.Food: Fried chicken was super tasty. The chicken was moist, the batter nice and crispy. We felt the 2 piece portion was a bit large for us. We loved it so much we did actually take the rest for a snack later. It was just as good cold. The coleslaw was good, but both my friend and I agreed we made better ones. We did like the caraway seeds in it. Made it interesting.Service: Very friendly and quick staff.Space: This was my biggest surprise. I had not realized how tiny the space is. It’s designed for take out or eat quick standing up (no chairs here) by the counter along the windows. There is not even a washroom for patrons. It’s that small.
Been there 3 times now. Always great service & attend to special requests. Fries are great. 2/3 times the chicken was outstanding. Maybe I was on an off day with my taste buds when it didn’t seem so great the one time. I’d certainly order again.
This place is great! Their fried chicken is to die for! Their fries have been hit and miss…one time cold and dry, the other time fresh and great. So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Their shakes are good! Their sides aren’t their shining star (though my favourite is either fries or potato salad) but their chicken is so good that it’s all worth having!
Friends brought Cluck N Cleaver fried chicken to potluck dinner last night. It was seasoned nicely and I really like the batter on the chicken and it was not too thick and not oily at all. They brought roasted potatoes too but I never ended up trying it.
