#16 – Chicken Satay Soup. A thing that dreams are made of. The chicken is unbelievable and the broth…omg the broth. It’s one of my all time favourite things in this city. All the pho I have had from Co Do is awesome but the satay is my favourite by far. The reason I’m only giving 4.0 is because the peanut dressing that comes with the salad rolls is so watered down and the rolls typically come kind of messy.
I had the wor won ton soup 25e I think. The broth was delicious. Not too salty and very nice flavour. I forgot to take the picture before eating so this was all that was left after I was full (quite a bit so generous portions). It came with grilled shrimp, pork and chicken, tons of noodles (you can see in the second picture that was what was left after I filled the broth to over flowing. For the price – best bang for your buck on 17th ave. Will def order from here again.
Friendly service, reasonable prices, and delicious Pho. Perfect for a chilly fall day on 17th Avenue. Stick to the soup and you won’t be disappointed.
It used to be the go to place for Pho in the SW. But over the years and with explosion of Pho Restaurants, I don’t go here as often. The food is decent, pricing is okay, so I can’t really complain. Environment needs updating/renovating though.
It was ok. There are better Vietnamese restaurants in town. However the price is reasonable and based on the quality it is acceptable. Personally I wouldn’t come back.
Ordered delivery. Chicken, beef veg stirfrys. Had flavour. Nothing amazing but not bad at all. Only complaint is portion size was inconsistent between the two dishes. One had way more than the other and neither were very big. All in all codo is decent value for your buck
I have mixed feelings about this place. So I’m going to point out the most positive thing first. The Beef Pho Sate is absolutely delicious. Rich flavourful broth and they add coconut milk to it, which just adds another dimension of delicious, especially when you have a spicy broth. The meat in it wasn’t bad, and it wasn’t great. Other than that, this place has some really negative points. It looks pretty dirty and grungy inside. The bathrooms are gross. I would probably be a bit nervous to look in the kitchen. The service is not friendly. No smile and barely any acknowledgement from our waiter besides, basically a grunt when we ordered. We stayed quite a long time visiting at our table and they didn’t seem to mind even when we weren’t ordering anything else, which was good. Had to ask for more water on a few occasions though, which was bad. The Bun (vermicelli noddles with veggies and meat), which both my husband and friend ordered were abysmal. Everything including veggies were quite soggy, small portion and hubs said the meat had a mild cigarette flavour. I’m not sure how you can get the soup so right, and the other thing everyone always orders at Vietnamese restaurants, so wrong. But it happened here. I probably would not return, unless I was in the area and really wanted pho.
