Really want to like this place, but the last few times Ive ordered from here both me and my partner got ill. Golden Moon, if youre reading this, please do whatever you need to do to ensure your customers arent becoming ill after eating your food. Otherwise the fast of the food is half-decent; could tone down the salt and sweetness.
Ordered takeout from skip the dishes and was presently surprised. They offer free delivery over $20 and the delivery time was faster than what it would have taken me to drive there and get takeout. We ordered a combination dinner and everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The chicken chowmein was delicious. I will definitely order again.
I ordered through skip the dishes for a promo. Delivery was free over $20 which was nice! The delivery guy was great but doesnt work for golden moon specifically. I got the dinner special for 1 ($12.95) which comes with rice, vegetables, spring roll and the dish of your choice (there were many options). I got the Sweet and sour chicken balls. The portions were huge and everything was tasty. My only suggestion would be to ask for the sauce on the side because t wasnt and was soggy. We also ordered some thin curry noodles (singapore fried rice noodles) with shrimp, egg and pork for $11.95). Another huge portion and these noodles were very good! I definitely will have leftovers. The food quality seems higher than most other cheap Chinese food places. It is definitely worth a try!
We have ordered from here a number of times over the last 2 years and consistently good food. Only once did we have a complaint about portion size being too small. The Cantonese Chow Mein is delicious, good sauce. Salt and Pepper chicken is a smidgen salty but tastes great, perfect amount of heat. The Spring Rolls we just ate tonight were jam packed with filling and tasted fresh. The service isnt great or overly friendly.
Ordered online it took 20 minutes service was good and food was ready when we got there. The food was really good we ordered the dinner for two. The food was good for the price as we had leftovers. My fortune from the fortune cookie told me to treat myself and i definitely did by ordering from here.
While I haven’t tried to eat there (I’m not sure if there’s room?) I’ve gotten take out often from them. Their quality is very consistent and the food has never been cold or spilled from my experience (and I order soup a lot from them!), the one caveat though is some of their dishes require something extra like soy sauce or sriracha otherwise they can be dry. This is my favorite chinese place at the moment however because their prices are very reasonable and the taste of the food is usually above the standard of most places I’ve tried. I think this place has only been outperformed by far more expensive places in Calgary in my experience.
