Literally the worst service I have ever had. I called to place an order – the employee said hi only so i didn’t even know that I was calling a restaurant. He would not explain what i could order so I just went with what I know, fortunately they had that. I get there to pickup my food and the guy at the front doesn’t greet me, doesn’t say thanks for coming or anything. Just punched in the order total and handed me the machine. I asked him to explain two things on the menu he said it’s Somalian – well CLEARLY – I am here for a reason and said something about corn and bread. In other words wouldnt explain it to me. Would not recommend. Never going back. Food good – good portions. But not worth the shitty service there are better places in town.

So this place is great. It’s not fancy or big, but their service and food quality is awesome. Be prepared to try new things and open your eyes! Go outside your boundaries people! Calgary needs smaller private restos like this.
I do not believe this establishment legal. Its seems as if this restaurant is prejudice towards ppl unfamiliar with their culture. The food was sub par but the ambiance was astronomical and completely opened our eyes to what the world has to offer. My date didnt make it home unsatisfied.
DELICIOUS.. Partner just picked up chicken stew with perfectly cooked rice. Chicken is richly seasoned and like all Somali stews the spicing is almost Indian but unique, sweet and savoury and a little spicy almost like a Jamaican brown stew chicken but not quite. Delicious at any rate. As good as the Somali food we had in Toronto, and that’s high praise.
Amazing Somali food. Had the pasta with chicken suuqar and it was to die for. Best African food in calgary.
