My review is based on having only three dishes. Naan Bread, Saffron Rice, and Butter Chicken. The bread is rubbery, chewy and not great. The saffron rice was good – but it’s just riceThe butter chicken is way too sweet. Incredibly sweet. Fell flat on flavour layers. I don’t think I would eat here again.

Unexpectedly needed to grab dinner out of the house and I recalled that there was this Indian place nearby. From the moment I went in I felt welcome. It is a pretty barebones dining room but this place has some heart. It may have just been one of those perfect moments but everyone seated in that room with me was enjoying their time and one of the owners was being such a gracious host. The food was also pretty good! It hit the spot. This is a humble neighbourhood place doing what they do well. It’s definitely made it in my comfort-food book now and I’ll be stopping by again. Next time for some Indian-Chinese…?!

Delicious!Got take out on a Sunday night with the bf. We ordered garlic naan (3 pieces per order), coconut rice, vegetable jalfrezi and the tandoori mix platter. My goodness! We were hoping for some good Indian food and this place did not disappoint. The tandoori mix platter was a colourful assortment of meats cooked absolutely perfectly and so delicious. The vegetable jalfrezi was so tasty. The sauce, spices, all perfect. Would absolutely get both of these dishes again. Coconut rice and garlic naan were perfect accompaniments. Looking forward to tying more of the food on their menu.

Very tasty food. Fast service. Spartan ambiance (this is a take out with a few tables). Tried the Tandoori Mixed Platter (102), Lamb Korma (46) with saffron rice and Naan. I liked that dark meat (drumstick) was used for the chicken. Tasty and colourful. Korma had chunks of tender lamb. Rice and Naan were delicious too. We’ll be back!April 2, 2016Went back for a large selection with more diners. Even more yummy foods! Tried: beef briyani, chicken tikka and beef vindaloo and replay on the mixed platter. Awesome chef! 😛

Got takeout from here the other day, and was pleasantly surprised to find that my local indian takeout isn’t half bad!I would certainly agree with other blogs that say that the curries are basically meat in soup, but the curries are rich in flavour and a good level of spice. You also get a big amount of curry, considering the price. I would say it’s definitely a case of quantity over quality though.I’m from the UK; where chicken korma was recently voted the UK’s favourite dish. We love our curries, and you can probably guess that I’ve had a lot of curries in my time. I would say that what you can get here sits somewhere in the middle of the road, possibly slightly towards the worse end. Not amazing, but not too bad either. I think having a bit more veg, potatoes or onions in the curry would make them far richer, but flavours are pretty good actually, imo. I would definitely like the curries to be a bit thicker and chunkier though, they are very basic indeed. We had the chicken korma and the butter chicken (we weren’t feeling particularly adventurous that night), and both were quite full of flavour, especially the butter chicken. To be honest, the butter chicken is a little different to the ones I’ve had before (it’s kind of like chicken in creamy tomato soup, rather than a creamy buttery curry), which threw me initially, but actually it’s quite tasty. The korma, on the other hand tastes like the other korma’s I’ve had before; it was possibly a bit on the thin side, but there were still lots of good strong flavours. The other parts of the meal were actually pretty good. The coconut rice is quite nice, (again – lots for the price), and the garlic naan bread is absolutely delicious. We ordered 3 servings for 2 people, and it lasted us 2 meals. They also do pretty good popadoms :)The service is excellent, and I was greeted with a big grin. The food came literally within 5 minutes of ordering it (both times I’ve ordered from there)- not sure if that’s good or bad but it did feel a little on the quick side – kind of made me doubt that they were making it freshly to order, but I don’t really know much about curry preparation, and the food tasted pretty fresh!2 curries, 2 popadoms, 1 coconut rice and 3 naan cost us around $44, which is slightly less than we paid recently for a significantly higher quality indian meal. At the time it seemed like reasonable value for money, but in hindsight it does feel a little on the steep side for what we got (the quality, not the quantity). All in all, the food is perfect for a cold winter night and it tastes fairly good. I would happily get takeout from here again, but I wouldn’t say it’s a place I would want to eat in. This place seems to be a pretty good option if you want a quick and basic curry that tastes good when you aren’t in the mood to cook. eliteyyc.com

We discovered this restaurant purely by accident Christmas eve 2014. We were on our way to Tandoori Hut and it happened to be closed. We had driven past Tandoori Grill on the way and said what the hell we would give it a try. The food was really good so we continued to keep going there. Then it changed hands and we thought oh no but to our surprise the new owners didnt change a thing. If anything the food has got better! Although they are a bit limited in regards to the dine in area the service and the food is first class. The naan bread is the best I have tasted anywhere and cant be beaten when eaten fresh. Its crispy and delicious. My gf loves their butter chicken and they make me a lovely korma with coconut added.Mike is always very attentive and all the staff make you feel like you are their number 1 customer. The food portions are excellent. There is always enough for us to have two meals each from one dish and the prices are excellent. This is how curry should be 🙂

The service is here is fantastic! The gentleman who helped us was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though he’s only been there for a few months other customers also gave him positive feedback! The food here is delicious. Made fresh and they cater to your liking of how spicy you want the dishes to be. We ordered the butter chicken, beef masala curry, and chicken tikka masala. They were all tasty. The chicken tikka masala was better than the butter chicken. More herbs and more kick. We ordered the coconut rice and saffron rice to accompany the sauces. BTW, they provide ample sauce for you to dip with the rice and naan. We wanted to try both kinds of naan they offer and so we had an order of the butter naan and an order of the garlic naan. They make the naan fresh as well. They knead the dough and cook it! Price point is good as well- great for sharing among people. Definitely coming back again even for takeout! hermoderncanvas.com
