It’s in a great location and there’s a lot of street parking (after 6pm). It has this warm & cozy decor – warm fireplaces, poplar branches, yellow brick, … so it’s easy to relax and enjoy yourself. I went with a large party and they were able to accommodate us. The service was a bit slow and the choice of wines was limited. It’s was not so slow that it would keep me from coming back, but though the food was good, it wasn’t especially amazing for the price you are paying. Definitely more of a date night or work dinner kind of place in my books.
First time at Q Haute Cuisine. Had a mixed experience. The service was great, the food was good, but the portion sizes were a little small for my liking. The worst thing about the restaurant is the lack of parking, including handicapped parking and the lack of an elevator. There is ample street parking around the restaurant, however most of the parking is for 30 mins, so youd have to park blocks away and walk there…which is fine in the summer, but not great when theres ice and snow everywhere. Overall, a nice experience and despite the issues with parking, Id try them again if I had the opportunity.
If I could give this place higher rating I would. My husband took my sister and I out while she was visiting g us last summer… I can be tardy to write reviews. Lol. I have to say , this place is impressive. The server was extremely knowledgeable about drink pairings and we got our dishes in a timely order. We had the chefs course dinner. It was creative and tasty! All of the food and drinks are of the highest quality. Several of the herbs are grown in house. If you like trying creations, this is the place to go. You will be full and happy when you leave here, and likely will have learned something new. We also were invited down to meet the chef and see the kitchen. Such a cool experience. Be expecting to drop a good chunk of coin but sooo worth it.
I really enjoyed here. I enjoy my wine and server was so knowlegeable and answered every question I had. The dining room was so comfty and the food they serve really hit the spot! Had a great experience there. I’d definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner.
Q Haute offers great value with a three course fine dining lunch for only $25. The service is always top notch. First CourseSimple green salad with seasonal fruit (cantaloupe and raisins – never thought of throwing those in a salad but I will now), feta, candied walnuts, cardamom citrus dressingSecond CourseSalmon cake on top of the most buttery mashed potatos and vegetables on the side (literally maybe three pieces). Personally I wasn’t a fan but my co-workers did enjoy their entree. Third CourseI don’t know what it was but it was a plated work of art.
We came here to try the food for the first time and it was very different and experimental. Good on them! To be honest there were so many little mouse bouches it was hard to keep track of what they served but you can see from the pictures that it was creative and very attention detailed. If you want something new fresh and original go here and trust the chefs. Nice to be by eau Claire as wel although the inside is an older more traditional feel – it’s not young hip and fun!
Service was great, but the food just wasn’t that good. Almost too fancy for their own good. I’d rather they focus more on flavour rather than trying to serve everything as a foam or jelly or decomposed etc….and I’m not knocking fine dining style. I’ve had many a fine dining meal and have enjoyed them (Eden in Banff, Andre in Singapore) but the difference was that they focussed on flavour first.
