Went out for drinks and food late with a group of friends for St.Patricks Day. It was very loud and busy, but a fun atmosphere. The music was quite loud, and you had to yell to hear each other across the table, and even that didn’t always work. But hey – it’s a pub and St. Paddy’s Day. Most of us had the green beer special which was decent and $4. I had the Irish Stew special for $14. It came in a sourdough dyed green bread bowl. I enjoyed it. The flavour was good and the lamb and potatoes were cooked well. My husband had the poutine for $10. He said it was ok but nothing outstanding. He commented that he enjoys Costco poutine better actually. The others around the table had various items including pizza (said it was good), Irish potato skins (also good) and schnitzel with mashed taters and veg (they weren’t very impressed with it – the schnitzel was quite dry – I tasted a bite and had to agree). All in all it was a fun evening with some of the food quite good and the other half just okay. Wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
