We should have followed our instincts when walked in and saw all the dirty dishes on all the uncleared tables. But we chose to give it a chance and we will never go back. The appetizers were good but they were out of shrimp and chicken so we by default got what was left…pork dishes…good thing we are not Muslim! To top it off, we couldn’t drown our sorrows in beer as they are not licensed! As we waited for our food the smoke from the kitchen started to stench our clothes. Five minutes later, the fan kicked in. We didn’t enjoy our meal as the service was terrible. Most likely due to the cook taking our orders, making our meals and taking payment…they are incredibly short staffed. We will be surprised if when we return to this hood, to see if the restaurant is still open for business in one year…a restaurant cannot survive on tasty apps alone! It needs service, to survive.
Mediocre Vietnamese. MehDon’t bother, you can find better Vietnamese restaurantsIt’s a small place located in a NE strip mall. Reasonably clean but we were seated next to two tables that had not been clearedeven though the guests were long gone.Ordered the deep-friend wontons for a starter. Batter was hard and tasteless but pork fillingwas well seasoned and best part of the meal.Ordered the pork vermicelli for the main. The vegetables werefresh but the meat, noodles were tasteless. The noodles wererecut into 1 inch strands, which was odd.
Poor Flavour, Small Portion. I’m a big fan of Pho and eat it as often as I possibly can. This was my first time eating here, and will definitely be my last. The food was bland, and what little flavour there was seemed off compared to other places I’ve eaten. The place was empty when I came in to pick up my order, and I see why. There’s 2 or 3 other better choices right in the neighborhood, I went to this one because they were open Monday when others in the area weren’t.
Tre Viet restaurant is one of very few restaurants in Calgary that caters authentic Vietnamese dishes. Their weekend’s special offers some great selection alternates weekly. My 2 favourites are Bun mang vit & Bun Bo Hue. Both of the 2 dishes are very tasty, flavourful and was nicely presented. My waitress was quick and attentive. Over all I was very happy with my visit. I ll return to Tre Viet soon, hungry for more.
Very bad. Portion is reaspnable. Soup has no taste. My noodle in the beef broth was still served in chuncks. Would not visit again
What I ordered wasn’t amazing. Stopped in here because of the good reviews. While much of what I saw others eating looked quite good, I wasn’t super impressed with what I ordered. My fault for not following the crowd I guess.I ordered shrimp salad rolls and chicken curry soup. The salad rolls were nothing to write home about but they were sizeable and I’d say worth the money. Nothing to complain about there. The soup however was a let down. The flavour was bland and many of the onions in the soup were from the outside layers of onion that should be discarded, not put into food. All around I left feeling unsatisfied and wishing I could go back in time and change my order.I would actually go again but I definitely would change up what I order. There is a good chance I just picked the wrong meal. Service was good and food came quickly.
Absolutely fantastic! I’ve been coming here since the day the opened and it is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The service is fantastic, the staff is all happy and helpful. The food is wonderful!Love this place!
