This is not your typical Indian, it’s South Indian. If you like spicy, then some of these dishes will knock your socks off including their butter chicken dish. They don’t have Nan but they have a very delish bread that is similar. Defiantly worth a try. Very friendly staff.

Visiting Calgary for a conference and went out for dinner. We were heading to a different place but stopped at the liquor store on our way. We noticed Sahana’s across the parking lot and thought we would try it out. Also had a recommendation from the guy at the liquor store. We ordered a lot of food as we were hungry and excited to try everything. We had the fish Pakoras, the mutton curry, butter chicken and Koththu Roti. Every bite was amazing! Our server gave us a sample of the chutneys to make a decision on what we would prefer, all were great butthe the mint one was the winner. We also ordered the South Indian parotta bread. I would love to go back for every meal! When we come back to Calgary, this will be a must stop! Thank you for an amazing meal!

I had never tried Sri Lankan food but I am pleased to say that I will definitely be going back for more. I can’t remember the name of the dishes we had but all were delicious and our young Bhutanese server made a solid effort to make recommendations, explain the ingredients and check in on us. The only downside is that the restaurant interior is a little dark and dingy. That said, the multitude of delicious flavours and aromas more than makes up for it. Check it out next time you’re in NE Calgary!

Went here on a Sunday night for a family dinner. Kothu roti, malabari paratha, string hoppers with potato n mutton masala was really good. Must try. The chilly chicken we ordered was sweet which was not up to the mark. Price wise it is decent enough. Service is a bit slow.otherwise its a great place if you wanna have south Indian/sri Lankan cuisine.

We went there for Sunday lunch. We ordered the vada and the chicken thali. The thali meal was huge, both me and my wife were not able to finish it. The portion of chicken in the meal is not big. We also ordered medhu vada (3 for 5$) they were fresh, hot and big. Our son enjoyed the ghee roast (5.50$) with 3 different chutneys and sambar. Excellent value for money and tasty food.

Ordered solid classic Sri Lankan take out: chicken & veggie kotthu roti, string hoppers with potato & goat curry, coconut sambol, and coconut milk curry. Food quality was excellent, price was perfect, and it was packed-up with care…a nice touch I appreciated. All in all, an excellent and long overdue entry to Calgary’s international gastronomic smorgasbord.
