I’ll keep it point form because I’m not the greatest with writing:-Family and I (5 people) went for drinks at the patio around 3:00pm on a long weekend Saturday.-Took a while for the waitress to come and take our drink orders. Not the biggest thing in the world, this varies from restaurant to restaurant.-After a while our drinks came back to us. The waitress then took our food orders.-She came back a while later to confirm my wife’s meal, she’d forgotten what my wife had ordered.-45 minutes later 3 of the 5 got our meals. My mom ordered a quesadilla but they thought it was a steak sandwich. The waitress then tried to give the steak sandwich to another customer. He didn’t seem happy, and this guys wife didn’t have her food for another 30 minutes after her husband.-30 minutes later the other 2 people at our table got their food. The quesadilla was dry without any condiments with it. She barely ate any of it.-The waitress said the gap in between the food was because it was meant for another table. That’s not our fault.-The guy sitting behind us who’d been there before us didn’t get his meal until 30 minutes after we did. He was by himself.-When all was said and done we went to go and pay and found out why the service had been lacking. There were 2 waitresses for the entire pub. Two waitresses to deal with the customers on the patio, pour and mix the drinks, run food and process the payments. Meanwhile Chief (as the waitresses called him) was sitting in the corner by himself doing the books off in his own world. Any owner or manager worth their salt would be doing whatever they could to make the pub run smoother. Instead it was up to the two waitresses to handle everything for the pub.-When we got the bill at the front my mom said that she wasn’t going to pay for her meal that she barely ate. It wasn’t fair. The waitress then tried to say it was because the food wasn’t meant for our table, it would have been the same regardless. Just an unprofessional attitude. The other waitress came by and comped some stuff from the bill. And ‘Chief’ was again just sitting in the corner writing some stuff down.-My burger was a typical pub burger, no complaints. The beer was cold and good. My dad’s fish and chips were mediocre, the quesadilla was dry and unappetizing. My wife’s steak wrap was actually quite good. I wish I’d ordered it, as did everyone else at the table. The deep fried pickles were also quite good.I’m not hard to please. Give me cold beer and make sure the food comes out together and is appetizing. Of course I’m going to pick everything apart if the experience isn’t good. If you’re in Sylvan Lake the only way I’d go into Chief’s again is if there was more than 2 waitresses doing everything. If their manager stepped in or there was more staff this place would have my recommendation. As it stands, it definitely doesn’t. The only positive was that the one waitress accidentally comped about 75% of the bill. We left before they figured it out. It’s unfortunate that the two waitresses have to suffer because of poor management. I hope they find better jobs.

I’m a regular here, and super excited that they have a new menu and the kitchen open this summer! Had the Steak Caeser Salad wrap, (they change it every week) it was really good. My friend had the crepe, and said it was delicious. excited to go back and hang out on the patio for some sunny Sylvan Lake summer days! I recommend re-trying Chiefs this summer! Always have had great service, and it is always fun to have some drinks here!

Just went for lunch the other day, they have a new menu and we all tried something new. Minus the deep Fried pickles, read one comment about them a while back and have been hooked on them ever since! I think they played a good card in switching up the burgers and wraps every week. They had a Greek Salad on special which was really yummy! The patio there will be my new favourite hang out. I encourage everyone to go and check out Chief’s this summer. They even have a kids menu, so families are welcome. Stole a picture of the menu so you can take a look. 🙂
