Great soup every day. Really different types too.
Best kept secret. The Black Lion Pub has wonderful daily specials. Their food is reasonably priced and very good. My husband and I are becoming regulars there. We love being able to walk there so that we can have a drink or two and not have to drive. We’re not sure why more people haven’t discovered it yet. It must be one of those best-kept secrets. Oh well – our gain. We never have to wait for a table.
Maybe if the service was better. This pub is only about a 10 min walk from my front door, so i decided to give it a try. took 10 min for the waitress to even bring us menus and drink orders, about half an hour to come and take our order, 30 min to get our order (which was brought out by someone from the kitchen, my thought is the waitress forgot). all in all if it hadn’t been for the good company i was with i would have walked out of there much earlier. the food was decent, good fries, My burger was tasty all though when you advertise a bacon mushroom swiss burger you should really use swiss cheese and not cheddar.so we were there for about 2 hours, saw the waitress 3 times, the place was mostly empty, the food was worth what we paid, however the terrible service means i will not be going back.
Good Times :). I’m from out of town, I have been to the Black Lion several times… When I am in Calgary I make it a point to stop by as often as I can. The service is amazing and the food is VERY good! And the Karaoke Lady who works the weekend is a sweetheart! So full of life and mischief. 🙂 I have never been to a better show. Always a good time every time I go. I Highly recommend you spend your entertainment dollar there. You just cant go wrong 🙂

Great Local Pub. Went to Black Lion over the weekend and had a great time. We have been there several times and never leave unsatisfied. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices are beyond resonable. Good selection of beers on tap and a good karaoke on the weekends. Keep up the great work!
Karaoke, bingo and drink specials! What more can you say? Other than the hosts are incredible and the food and service are equally as great! Perfect way to spend a Thursday night. Thanks guys! 🙂
