This is on the expensive side for sure but I really do recommend coming here if you’re not on a budget. The way they treat their nests is just fantastic and you will definitely not regret putting this delicious meat into your mouth. Come here in groups so you can attempt the bigger platters which have more types of meat.
First impression was the restaurant kind of smelled weird when we walked in but after that we were happy! The environment is cool and the food was crazy good ! I ordered some grapefruit cocktail which was delicious. The food was very reasonably priced with HUGE (and I mean huge) portion sizes. And awesome ! The waiting staff was very attentive as well !
Where to start! First of all park as close to the doors as possible! This place is in a sketchy area. I was a little unsure when we pulled up but thankful when we walked in. It was actually quite busy for a Tuesday night. Our server was nice and attentive which I appreciated. She also new the menu quite well. I chose the Mac and Brisket. It wasnt spicy at all even though it is infused with jalapeo. The brisket was the best I have ever had! It just fell apart nicely and had a nice Smokey flavor to it. I would recommend this place to anyone especially if you have a big appetite haha.
I saw god. Everything exceeds expectations. Large portions and variety of sauces. Makes the restraunt ‘meat’Seem like gas station hot dogs served by a neckbeard with the biggest hentai collection in the northern hemisphere.
Situated just off 97 street and 118 Ave, Sloppy Hoggs has been an Edmonton staple for years and some of my other foodie friends had raved about it. My friend had made a reservation on a Sunday evening and getting there around 6pm the restaurant was about half full. The place reminds me of a stereotypical Southern diner which sells greasy smoked meat by the pound, which is a great way to describe Sloppy Hoggs. We ended up splitting the Game Day platter which consisted of various types of smoked meat, all of which came out with our sides (corn bread, maque choux, and french fries). The platter came out quite quickly, and the food looked almost overwhelming. My personal favourites from the platter were the fries and beef brisket. The ribs were a bit of a letdown for me personally – hard and not really tender. There was a lot of food. The 5 of us managed to all have leftovers and left the restaurant stuffed.Overall for the price and sheer amount of food that you get it is a great place to satisfy your cravings. I felt sick after eating it but I think that’s my personal preference rather than the food itself. I was the only one who felt that way out of my group of friends. Service was relatively average. Nothing out of the ordinary in a good or bad way. All in all, I see what they hype of this place was about. Is this my style of restaurant? Not really. I might come here once in a while but from personal preference I’ll pass. I do know tons of people who love this place though. Recommended.
Pretty good food the wait time was a little long. I enjoyed sharing some nachos with friends & the chicken & waffles were alright a little dry though.
Had not been to this restaurant since it was at the other location closer to NAIT. Is close to a friends house so decided to try again. Like this space better than the old one.Ordered the brisket with collard greens, red beans and corn bread. When food came out was confused about what was on top of my meat. It was their version of au jus. Sauce was thick and jelly like. I am used to au jus being thin and served on the side. Wish they had served it on the side so I could have decided whether I wanted to eat it or not.Collard greens were very salty. Not my choice for bbq.
