Catering to my increased craving for sweets lately, the doting bae was happy enough to wait 20 minutes in line with me in a parking lot for rolled ice cream. Yup, 20 minutes – and apparently thats a not-so-busy wait time. This creamery based out of a food truck has two locations in the city, both in random parking lots, which totally work for how big the line up is. Scoop and Roll is basically like marble slab except cheaper.. with less toppings and the end result is rolls in a cup rather than a pile in a waffle bowl. (yafeelme.) Enthusiastic staff are ready and willing once you finally make your way to the head of the line, you choose your base, and then add toppings to mix in. The first two toppings are complimentary with the base price of $7 while premium toppings are also offered with an additional cost. Matcha Green Tea base + Mint Chocolate Chips = simplicity at its finest. We went hella simple and safe with this combination and honestly no regrets. Bae even enjoyed this and he is not one for sweets. Will be back to try more combinations and mix ins. Wait was worth it, staff made it pleasantly amusing too. I totally recommend!
Be prepared to wait up to an hour for the ice cream! The scroll ice cream takes a while to make and each order is personalized which justifies the wait time. If you never tried scroll ice cream, I would recommend giving it a go. The ice cream isn’t any more expensive than marble slab so it’s worth a try. You choose your flavour of ice cream you want and choose the toppings you want with it. Cool experience, worth the try but not sure if I’ll come back for it with the long wait time. P.S that Thai tea flavour is amazing.
