Awesome tasting. So many choices to choose from and combinations to make. The only down side is the wait times. It really is a bummer that they can’t turn out more ice cream as im sure alot more people would come because word spreads that you have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes in line.
This is a really unique place to have ice cream. They make it right in front of u. I find that I can’t finish the 4 rolls and wouldn’t having it in a cone. The wait times could get long because of the line ups. But this place is solid and the wait is worth it
Well I finally got to try Scoop n Roll, not too busy on a Saturday afternoon. $7 gets you the standard with your choice of what flavour of ice cream, 2 free toppings and anything else is an additional charge. They even have Ferrero Rocher as a topping if that’s something you fancy. I went for something straightforward, mango ice cream w/ mangoes and pineapple. The flavours turned out pretty nicely and it was pretty delicious. My girlfriend got coffee for ice cream and Ferrero Rocher as her topping. It was a wonderful combination. Of course the wait time is the worst thing. Luckily there werent a lot of people (15 maybe) but it was still at good 20+ min wait. They only have the capacity to make 3 at a time, not much you can do about that. Would I go back. Yes, only if the line is short haha.
C for Creative Concept. E for Excellent Execution. N for never really coming back again because the ice cream didn’t taste all that great. It was a try one and be done type of thing. At least for me anyways. I just like watching those guys scoop things up. It looked so mesmerizing – as if it was a magic show. However, waiting 45 minutes for this is just ridiculous. I’d rather go to Costco and buy Haagen Daz. Although I’m not a big dessert fan, I do know what good ice cream tastes like and the ones here are either too home-made or it was just too bland and creamy. I don’t know. I suppose if you wave signs of organic/gluten-free/all that BS it would make me feel better about eating something that is healthy but tastes meh. If it is just as bad nutritionally as all other ice creams then I simply won’t spend my calorie quota on the ice cream here. No way.
Scoop and Roll has gotten so many rave reviews from my north side foodie friends that when I had a chance to try it out (even after having dessert elsewhere) I excitedly agreed. Getting there around 3:30pm (that’s when it opened on that day), the line was already 5-6 groups of people long! The place hadn’t even opened yet and all these people had already lined up. It took a long time to order and get our ice cream. In total, it took about 30 minutes from standing in line to getting our ice cream, and when we got our ice cream we noticed the line had gotten even longer! Talk about a successful business. The price has risen to $7 for the ice cream + 2 toppings, and I didn’t see any option to get it in a cone (only rolled up in a cup). Our ice cream that we got was fantastic. It’s fresh and is made right in front of you (such a cool process!). However, I definitely would not drive across the city for this and wait upwards to an hour (from what my friends said from their other experiences) to get this ice cream. It’s good, but not worth the drive and wait for the ice cream. If nearby and/or you are able to get the ice cream fairly quickly, I think it’s a fantastic place for ice cream. Recommended.
I love this place. The lineup is always obnoxious and it takes a while to get your order in but it’s so delicious and I think everyone should try it at least once. Not only is it a cool idea but the ice cream itself tastes amazing!
Yum-O!!! We ordered the ice cream, left our number, and went back to pick it up. Total wait of about an hour. But soooooo worth the wait. Tasted great in the hot summer day! They even tried to make it one big roll for me so that it wouldn’t melt as fast. How kind! Would definitely do it again!Step 1: compose your ice cream flavour Step 2: choose toppings Step 3: wait lolCoffee with Oreo and almondsStrawberry with blueberry & cheesecakeMango with mango fruit & chocolate chipsStrawberry with strawberry fruit and chocolate Pistachio with almonds and honey comb
