Our favorite restaurant in Calgary! Great family owned hospitality and outstanding menu choices – each one melts in your mouth!!!! If you want calamari that is both full of Italian goodness and is so tender it never needs chewing – try the Franco!!!
Went here for our anniversary dinner was great, awesome people and I wanted to give a shout out to Jonathan who made everything possible. Food was great and people were awesome. Loved it all.
Best kept secret. 33 years under the same owner and manager. Nice atmosphere, great food, friendly , accomodating and reasonable. You just cannot go wrong at Il Chanti .Dave J, Calgary.
Food was very good however, there were errors and omissions in our appetizer and mains. It felt as though we had crashed a private party as most of the room was filled with regulars. The bill was incorrect and the waiter walked away twice to fix the bill. We split the payment and when I asked him how much was remaining after my friend paid he walked away again to calculate the bill. It was so awkward!!! Not to mention he argued with us about the discrepancy on the bill when he charged us incorrectly on the appetizers. That interaction totally tainted the entire evening. Food was good but honestly it was such a negative experience I wouldn’t return.
If you love family and you love Italian, you will love this restaurant. All fresh and outstanding flavors. When I travel to Calgary I always look forward to going to Il Chianti. You will never go wrong with any special they have.
Kids love pasta. This is my favourite place for pasta. I don’t have to force the kids to eat. They love the sauce and a whole plate of spaghetti is done in no time. No hassle. Cheers
Authentic. I’ll Chianti has been around since the early 1980’s and is still owned and run by the same Italian Couple who opened it all those years ago. The majority of their clientele have been going there and returning for years as well. I have always had a great experiance here, and the food is always great.
