Just as the Italian Centre is my go to for Euro ingredients, Unimarket is my place for Latino foods. Not only is it a good supermarket, it has a butcher, bakery, taqueria and community centre. Lots of dried chili varieties, tortillas, frozen tamales, nopales, and other special items are available. I try to time my visits to coincide with lunch so I can get some yummy tacos or on the weekend, the Columbian favourite, lechona. OMG, lechona is an awesome dish of slow roasted pork with rice and veggies wrapped in a pork skin. Every serving gets a little of the crispy skin. Fantastic. I enjoy my visits there if just to hear Spanish spoken. Check it out.
