Decent. Since it is the end of the winter semester, our area thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of low students on campus. We arrived at Black’s at 11:30, and there were only 2-3 tables (with one large table reserved). At Black’s, you just seat yourself (first timers may not know this). Our waitress arrived very shortly and brought us our menus. Since we were waiting for one more person, our waitress didn’t check back until our party member arrived.Once our table was complete, she took our drink order, returned shortly and took our food order. We didn’t wait very long for our food to arrive, and it was nice and hot. I ordered the burger and fries – fries came in a tin cup, quite attractive. The burger had the usual condiments like lettuce, onions, and mayo. The meat patty was rather uniform, so it was most likely ‘frozen’, but I had no issues with the food, the fries were well seasoned, crispy, and hot.Our waitress did ‘rush’ us – by presenting us the bill before we were ready to leave – but she explained that she wanted us all ready to go before she had to contend with the big table.I enjoyed the lunch, it was delicious and satisfying. I usually eat a much smaller lunch, so this burger/fries at Black’s (for me) was quite substantial.

Fond memories of days past…. This place will always be remembered by me for the 25 cent wing Wednesdays and beer, and the place where I watched the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004. The food isn’t going to be high class, but it’s good, cheap pub fare that isn’t going to put a big bite on your wallet. Plus they have pretty good stuff on tap, which can’t be bad!
