I was so sad eating the chicken shawarma that I ordered. It tasted unlike any shawarma I have ever had-the meat was suspiciously tasteless, the wrap itself was soggy after five minutes from all the runny sauce, the vegetables likewise tasted bland, I could hardly eat half of it but was so hungry that I got 3/4 of the way through. I will never go back here.
Ordered a chicken shawarma. Wasn’t expecting much since this is a food court venue that is never busy, but I can see now why that is. The meat, while soft and easy to bite into, is microwaved rather than cooked on a spit. The vegetables served as water filler for the most part and ended up further diluting the flavourless garlic sauce. Overall, while the food does look somewhat healthy, it felt absolutely tasteless and could not satisfy my shawarma cravings. The man behind the counter was nice, though, so that’s where my ratings went into. Save your money and pay a little bit more for better tasting food instead.
NOPE NOPE NOPE. This place is a joke. They should be ashamed of what they call a shawarma. Absolutely tasteless cardboard that basically tastes like salt and pepper. The one at the University of Calgary is absolutely disgusting
Horrible Service. I ordered a falafel wrap today. I was surprised when I bit into it and it tasted like liquid soap. I have never returned food before but it was not eatable. I figured it was just a small mistake (maybe a sauce bottle didn’t get fully rinsed after being washed, or someone had soap on their gloves) and that the workers would be happy to find out early that there was a soapy taste in something they were preparing food with. Instead… I was snarled at and yelled at. They claimed there was no way it tasted like soap, but they would not taste it themselves. I had to insist on a refund (they would not make me a new wrap) and practically had the money thrown at me while the lady muttered under her breath. The WORST customer I have ever received!!!!!
Salty. The pita was a bit salty but other than that it was pretty good. Next time I will skip the olives and hopefully that will reduce the saltiness.
Unexpectedly Good Food. I’m a third year university student, who purchases food on campus almost everyday, and I can say with much confidence that this food court joint is my favorite. All the food I’ve had here has been awesome. When I’m not at school, I’m still craving it. They’re best known for their tomatoe cheese pies, and rightly so. They’re light, thrown under their broiler to order, and packed full of flavour. Another great variation on that pie, is their spinach harper pie. Also delicious. Both pies, oozing with cheeses, and herbs, my mouth is watering just thinking out them. Their greek pitas, tzaitiki sauce, greek salad, samosas, and everything is just amazing. Another favorite of mine is their chicken wraps, which have this incredibly delicious garlic mayo sauce in it, along with veggies you wouldn’t normally find in wraps, such as green peppers and pickles. Well, at least I’ve never included them in my sandwiches/wraps. This wrap is huge, and worth the 6 bucks. Also, another great bang for your buck are their greek platters. You get your choice of salad, meat, sauce, and pitas. Mmmmmm.
