Wrong hours, wrong order, takes forever to get your food. Server goes out of their way to intimidate guests from even professional associations. If you are not an undergraduate looking for a drink, find anywhere else.
I definitely enjoy The Den & Black Lounge moreso than the Last Defence Lounge. The food seems better in quality and the presentation seems a lot better! I think the menu changes more frequently and there are always new specials to try every time you go.Food waiting times aren’t bad at all either and the portions are pretty good. The only minor issues I have with are the awkwardly tall bar stools (not a problem f you can get one of those normal height booths), how the beer selection could be improved, and how I can’t order premium beers in pitchers.Wednesday wings night, Thursden, and clubs/semester end celebrations will always be some of my most fondest memories at the UofC. Thank you, The Den & Black Lounge!
The food is usually pretty good and lunch time service is usually good. If you go in the evening expect horrible service though. They need more servers or less tables during peak hours.
I love the new look! Service was great as we had a large group. Everything looked amazing. I ordered the beef Vindaloo. It was dry, spicy, and lacking in flavour. :(I will go back, but will try another entre. I had meal envy!
If you’re craving burgers, poutines or pizzas, the Den has your back! It’s actually a really nice pub where friends can just sit and relax (when it’s not Thursden)! They have daily specials. The service is really slow so if you’re in a rush for your next class, don’t eat there.
University pub. Had a lot of good memories here. Will miss this place when I graduate.
Seriously?. Its a student run bar if you like cheap booze and a fun place to kick back with friends its a rather convenient and fun atmosphere. Seriously though, service is decent at best, and the foods bad, i swear it comes straight out of the bottom of the can some days! anyway for other reviewers of this bar FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO MARKET! who writes reviews like that?
