Fun place if you want to play hide-and-seek with servers. I don’t even know how to begin. LDL is singlehandedly the worst establishment I’ve ever eaten from. First of all, the place is annoying. Your butt will sink to the floor and so will your ears because they blast the worst and loudest music on loop. The server was a hell of a guy. I am half convinced he was either drunk or had some sort of traumatic accident that made him incapable of serving. I have never been to a restaurant where I’ve had to ASK for menus, cutlery, or physically get up and walk to the kitchen to get some ketchup. Easily the WORST service I’ve ever been subjected to. The food itself sucked. I ordered the garlic steak and the only component I could put in my mouth without shedding a tear was the white rice. The steak was obviously reheated and very chewy. I had some potatoes from my friends to try and they were just as bad. Everything was awkwardly seasoned and very hard to get down. Had to wait 20 minutes to order and 20 minutes to pay. Everything was intolerable. Would highly NOT recommend!

Great restaurant! Pizza’s are really good, the right size for one or two people. Cool new specials every day. Classiest spot on campus!
Same food as the Den and Black Lounge. The food here is pretty much the same quality / price as the food at the den and black lounge. It’s a bit cleaner and brighter though, but it can be pretty quiet. More for grad students and professors I suppose.
What happened?. I always used to have a great experience every time I came here. But lately it just feels sub-par at best when it comes to the organization of the place.I went for lunch yesterday and had to wait 10 MINUTES to be seated even though I arrived before the rush and there were plenty of open tables. 10 minutes of standing there watching the hostess flutter about not even acknowledging the line forming at the front. She didn’t seem to have a clue which way was up, and the priority of seating people seemed to be last on her list. This seems to happen every time I go now. Our server, however, was wonderful. I’ve never had a bad experience with a server here as they’ve always been extremely friendly, helpful and relatively quick. And the food was definitely delicious, so no complaints whatsoever there. I wish they’d plan a little better for lunch rushes and staff an extra host or hostess so people aren’t lined up out the door with 10 empty tables in the restaurant just waiting to be filled. That alone makes me not want to go knowing what an unnecessary headache it is just to get a table.
Yummy food, service unpolished, but smoking ?. To wrap up Christmas 2013, our area went out to LDL for lunch. Note : we had to pre-order our food ahead of time due to meetings after lunch.Upon arrival, we told the wait staff our reservation, and the girl seemed unsure. It took abit but we were finally shown our table.Since we pre ordered, no menu was provided. She took our drink order and it was brought to our table promptly.For appy, I picked the buffalo shrimp. You could tell it was pre cooked and sitting under the heat lamp, the breading had already gone soft (I’m sure if it wasn’t pre cooked the shrimp would’ve been yummy). The dipping sauce was delicious, it tasted it had blue cheese in it, which really added to the oomph.I ordered the garlic steak, with potatoes and rice. What I got was the rice but no potatoes, just green beans. I was disappointed at first until I tasted the green beans, not only was it vibrant in colour but was almost beautifully cooked (slightly overdone but good nonetheless). Nice buttery cutting on each bean, and slight al dente. Next the entree, since it was advertised as sirloin I knew it wasn’t the softest of cuts. I ordered it rare, and it was beautifully cooked (perhaps a little past rare due to the fact it was sitting under the heat lamp). The garlic mushrooms were to die for, good chunks of garlic infused into each mushroom slice.For dessert, I picked the chocolate volcano cake. It arrived with a dollop of ice cream and whipping cream, with chocolate drizzle. The cake itself was warm, with chocolate oozing over the sides. Mixed with the ice cream and it was a match made in heaven.Service : I felt it was ok, but a tad unpolished. Our table was never offered refills on our drinks, and they could’ve also given out water all across. Overall though, it was passable.What really got me was I witnessed 2 kitchen staff members that headed outside to the patio to smoke. * ugh *, I wasn’t sure if the kitchen staff were cooks or dishwashers, I really hope that they washed their hands as the thought of a cigarette that touched their mouths then touched their fingers is a little off setting. Which is a shame, because the food was quite good, I’d go back just for the food alone. The smoking part, pass.
