Nice people, soggy pasta. I tried their pasta combo which is pasta and salad. The pastsa was soggy and the sauce was not thick at all. The owners are very friendly, but it’s not the right place if you want some tasty pasta.
Decent mains, great desserts. One of the gems in HUB mall, the U of A’s food court/marketplace/residence/social hub.The family-run Italian eatery has something for different tastes. For lunch they usually have at least 2 mains- crispy chicken cutlet, juicy meatballs, boneless ribs slathered in tomato sauce, fried fish……. all of which can be made into combos with salad, pasta or both (for 6, 7 or 8 bucks). Try the baked pasta- it is delicious. Some find their regular pasta to be a bit overcooked. While the pasta kitchen is downstairs, upstairs has a variety of Italian sandwiches to choose from. Good bread, smoked/processed meats, cheese and veggie spreads make for some cool creations, all priced between 5 and 6 dollars. To top it off, they have decent coffee and some the best (and cheapest) cookies and sweet treats to go with it. A good and affordable eatery for students and university employees.
For five dollars you can go downstairs and get a to-go container full of pasta and salad with a bun on the side. The food is pretty good. Upstairs they serve excellent coffees and their spicy chicken wrap is pretty darn tasty. Give it a shot for fairly good dining on a budget.
Could be better. Just went there earlier today during a tour of the U of A. I ordered a turkey panini sandwich which I thought was exceptionally delicious. Nothing special or extravagent but I find it quite convienient that they wrap their sandwiches in a way where you can just eat it on go. Only downside was that their sandwiches are pre made so all they have to do it slab it on the grill and voila! This also means that you can’t ask them to omit a certain ingredient.
I heard great things about it but I won’t be going back. Pasta was soggy and the Alfredo sauce was runny and had no flavor. Quite gross actually.
