My sister goes to school in Lethbridge and heard from friends it was good. We went for dinner one night hoping to find some healthy food. Got some sandwiches. I got the turkey bacon one. Man was it disappointing. There was one tiny slice of turkey on it, like come on? $10-$11 is a fair price for a sandwich.. But one slice of meat? Also there were 2 half pieces of bacon- essentially one full slice. The bread was 75% of the sandwich. Nice and thick and tasty, but seriously. People like stuff inside their sandwich. Staff was friendly. I won’t be coming back.
Great gluten free wraps, homemade soups and gluten free treats. Always super busy at lunch so be prepared to wait a while. The staff if knowledgeable with gluten free and know what is in the food since everything is made in house.
Great little caf! Took my girlfriend here for lunch, great atmosphere and excellent friendly service!
Creamy. I haven’t had a chance to compare the coffee product here vs other local establishments, but those lattes seem fine. Service, on the other hand, isn’t particularly friendly, but that’s Peru any because they’re over-worked. There’s another coffee/tea shop across the street, but it closes early, so the overflow runs here. The atmosphere is fine, and I’ve even enjoyed a game of Catan with my girlfriend on the tables… right beside another young couple playing Magic. Both of or tables were stared at with good reason.
Great Atmosphere. I go back to the Penny for the atmosphere, not the food or coffee. Their self-serve coffee seems like it has been sitting there forever; even A&W brews new coffee every 45 min. And the cream dispenser… ew. So get something else there. Food is good, the rest of the drinks are good, but I really just like the atmosphere of the place.
Not excellent, but good!!. Someone I bumped into at a roadrace out in Taber told me to check The Penny Coffee House. I wanted to check out some of the used book stores in Lethbridge. I ordered a California BLT w. Avacado, Date Square, and a coffee. It was almost $15.00. I had a medium brewed coffee, I think it was Guatamalan ?. The coffee didn’t impress me, I found it more of a strong/bold coffee. The BLT was pretty good probably not worth $9.00, though. The Date Square was good fresh. So, I did find the place pretty expensive. I think my coffee was a turn off for me. It is still an interesting place to visit.
Cozy place. I love the atmosphere of this place, staff is friendly and the coffee is good.I love all their baked goods too, the pasta salad is one of my favorites.its a nice place to grab a soup and sandwhich and read a book! Its nice that they have local art on the walls too
