My friend told they were having a limited time crawfish boil. Space was nice ordered a beer and asparagus salad as well. Crawfish was good but I have to admit I wish someone had shown me the technique to eating them. When I go down south crawfish is in the dishes no peeling required. I would defiantly go again when they have the boil. Will have to go back and try the chicken next time.
Not just a fried chicken place!! The chicken is definitely a cut above any other fried chicken I’ve had. The tastiest morsels can be found in the side dishes. My favorite is the fingerling potatoes but be aware they are addictive!
We hosted my nieces 18th birthday here and it was our first time dining as well.Venue: ok. We booked a their Rumpus Room as advertised on the website. The room was really no room at all.. rather the section of the restaurant next to the kitchen and the bathrooms. Constant traffic coming through which was very distracting at times plus we were hoping for something more private. Staff: Ok. While they did come check on us, they didnt seem like the friendliest staff. Maybe theyre introverts, I dont know. I believe it was on of the owners serving us. Food: Most of it was pretty good. Especially the chicken and cornbread. None of us were a fan of the potato salad though. Consensus was it was very bland and the potatoes were too firm. Might give them another shot but then again, but who knows.
Came to Northern Chicken on a Friday evening. It wasnt too busy, probably because it was pretty cold outside. I got the 6pc original fried chicken and a small Mac and cheese. In total it cost around $30. The chicken was very crispy and juicy. The original had a kick to it. The dorito mac and cheese was pleasant too. It was a bit more dry and not too cheesy, but I actually didnt mind that. It was quite delicious. The service was wonderful as well, we were welcomed and served with water immediately and greeted with smiles all around.
Amazing chicken. Definitely the best in Edmonton. Sides are great too. Good selection of beer. Casual dining atmosphere. One of my go to places to eat with friends.
YUMMY is all I can say 🙂 The chicken is DElish. The place is fun and has a great whisky menu too. I cant say that I would do cart wheels for the mac and cheese with doritos but maybe I just don’t like doritos or it could be that I found it too saucy for my liking and prefer a cheesy mac and cheese. The coleslaw is just ok, nothing special. Really, just go for the chicken and you won’t be disappointed, it is the star of the show.
Rated: Honey Thyme Cornbread, Doritos Mac & Cheese, Original Recipe Chicken, Hot Chicken, Extra Hot ChickenI’ve been here a few times now and I honestly believe this is the best fried chicken restaurant in Edmonton. I spent some time in Carolina and the cornbread I had there is not on the same level as the honey thyme. I’ve tried all versions of their fried chicken and I can handle my spice very well so I didn’t find there version overly spicy; I do recommend getting the original recipe and dipping it in their homemade hot sauces. You get a chance to better appreciate the flavour of the chicken that way. I’m experiencing cravings as I write this and I’ll definitely be going back.
