Ok food. Pretty much just your greasy bar food. Aopetizers were alright. The main meal wasn’t anything special (pulled pork sandwich). The waitress was efficient, but about as friendly as a rattle snake. I wouldn’t go back.

Pretty good BBQ house. bit more of a local gem than your Memphis blues that are popping up here and there and quite a bit better to. Flavor and texture wise smokehouse is deadly, a real heavy hitter in my opinion probably one of the best in Edmonton, the portions i found to be stingy in comparison to the other meat houses in town. I find that I often leave BBQ houses with a good booty of leftovers, but we got a meat place supposedly meant for 3 between the two of us, ordered an extra andoullie sausage AND were given a 3rd sausage complements of the house (actually that’s always a nice touch, thanks!) but we still polished it all off and could have easily downed more. The sides in particular were tiny, which is odd because that’s a great way to top off a customers appetites on a budget.Just as a side note this is probably one of the best BBQ places for celiacs that I have been to, my brother was able to have almost everything and they even carried his fave gluten free beer.I’ll be back in a hurry the next time I am on 124th, but I’ll probably avoid it on thursdays, which is their live music night. Everyone loves live music, but I find when they have live music nights in small establishments like this it ends up being way to loud and a bit of a detraction from the experience, it was so friggin loud, I still would have liked to be able to have a conversation over dinner.

Stopped in for supper here on date night. The staff are friendly and service is pretty good with live music/band playing in the corner. BBQ platers for two with pulled pork, fried chicken and beef brisket with sides of mac n cheese, corn bread, beans and coleslaw. Pulled pork and brisket are fall apart tender and juicy, fried chicken has average flavor but is lacking crunch. Sides of corn bread and coleslaw are lacking flavor and disappointing, mac n cheese has little to no flavor but is presented nicely and the beans are sweat with a hidden bit of spice. All this is served on plastic dishes with paper liners in a country bar like setting with four in house BBQ sauces for dunking.

This was my first time at Smokehouse BBQ and it’s safe to say it won’t surely be my last. The overall Southern theme definitely resonates in the vibe, decor and hospitality of the restaurant as well as of course, the food. Having ordered the big daddy combo (a sort of, pick your own platter of sorts) I decided on getting pulled pork, brisket, mac & cheese and coleslaw. All were phenomenal especially either of the meats when paired with any of the 4 house made BBQ sauces brought to each table upon arrival. The only portion I wish I could have altered was for my personal liking, there was bit too much celery salt flavor in the slaw but when eaten together with the pulled pork, the experience was highly enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking to satisfy their craving for Southern BBQ 🙂

Best kept smokehouse in Edmonton! They have a real smoker and smoke all their meat just like the states, no frozen crap. If you like meat, and BBQ sauce, great service, this is the place for your tastebuds. Food is great every time! I recommend sharing the BBQ sampler, will give you a taste of everything!

Applewood smoked, low and slow BBQ…The food is good. I really enjoy the burnt end sandwich that you get off of the food truck during the summer season. The same item in the restaurant however, was not as good. Very dry. Brisket is the hardest thing to make well when it comes to BBQ. Don’t do the brisket here. Anything but the brisket. The atmosphere is motorcycles and knick knacks with live entertainment on special nights. They have a daily special that I have never been disappointed with. I have had some wonderful smoked ham and the chicken and waffles is delightful! I am a fan of the sweet potato mash as a chosen side. The sweet tea is a great companion to any meal and they have a great selection of beer and other libations to wet your whistle.Smokehouse has been delightful about accommodating our large groups for meetings. The servers have been great and on busy nights, the owner is there to check on you personally.Parking is a chore on 124 street during peak hours. You usually don’t have to walk more than a block to find something though. yegfoodie.com
