So many teas to choose from here! Formerly a Steeps and has kept a similar vibe, with dissimilar chairs, unique mugs to choose from, and a similar price point. Tea to take home can be quite expensive, but the choices are interesting and fun. Feels very homely.
This used to be one of my favourite places when it was Steeps. I know they used to switch owners quite a bit so switching over to Tea Girl didn’t surprise me. I expected it to me just as good but was a bit disappointed. The tea itself is good but the food does not taste fresh and the environment was quite messy. The staff were not as friendly as the old Steeps group, and overall the experience was o.k but not great. I would recommend Cafe Tiramisu or Dutchess Bakery instead.
Unpleasant. Its a very cute place, however the environment I got from one of the staff made it unsettling as a customer. I was taking pictures of the menu and a display I thought was quite eye catching so I could post on my social media to advertise my friends to take a look, but the employee specifically told me it was frowned upon taking pictures inside the cafe. Its basically free advertising for the establishment but apparently its something they dont want.
Second to none atmosphere on 124th. I rarely get the chance to get out to Tea girl, which is a shame, as I love the atmosphere here in a big way. The classic furniture, plenty of natural light and the warm colors of the hardwood are all perfect for setting a tone of relaxation. its a vibe of class while not feeling stuffy and formal. Crowds are never too bad here either, unlike the Dutchess (also on 124th. Lovely but always an absolute zoo). More to the point though it has what I would surmise to be the best selection of loose teas in Edmonton, as well as a variety of other drinks such as coffee drinks or their macha tea which they prepare the proper way with a hand whisk. Its exactly what you want in a tea room and the kind of place I could spend a few solid hours in.
Best matcha latte in Edmonton with fantastic loose teas for sale.. Darling place with friendly and kind tea people….they aren’t really servers, they are tea-ologists. It’s my Happy Hour place. Love trying new teas. The recycling tin thing is so sensible, and I can put a 50g tin of Moonlight Lavender into my purse and I’m good to go. I also accidentally left an $80 tip there last week and they tracked it to me and refunded it. I am neither overly trendy nor young but I never feel judged there, unlike some up and coming independent tea and coffee places in this town, who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent, and to further reinforce my adoration for this lovely place.
