A cozy place! Best bistro to relax after a long day! Service was good or fair since we waited up to 15 minutes for four Tiramisu and 4 drinks and the place wasn’t busy! But everything else was perfect
I came here for a super quick lunch on a Saturday at around 2pm and it wasn’t that busy. Located on 124st you’re not short of options for places to eat but my girlfriend wanted to try this place. The place feels very homey and bright but sadly our server wasn’t. Cold and stand offish to us but super friendly and chatty with her other tables though. But I didn’t come for warming hospitality, I came to fill my stomach. They have a huge menu selection for such a quaint place, all day breakfast, risottos, pizza, pastas, etc. My girlfriend got their Eggs Benedict (served only on the weekends) and she was sitting on the fence about it. They serve the eggs and Hollandaise inside a croissant which is the first I’ve seen. The croissant isn’t toasted so everything just turns to a soggy mess. Their Hollandaise was a tad toovinegary and super runny. You get a side of fruit as well but I’d much prefer potatoes or hash browns. I got their Bison Ragu + meatballs. My bread wasn’t toasted which was a bummer. My pasta was very hearty as a Ragu should be. Decent amount of salt/seasoning and my spaghetti was perfect al dente. The meatballs were okay, moist enough but not tender by any means. Good portion size for a lunch. Tiramisu is at heart an Italian eatery and it’s not bad but not amazing as their walls of written testimonies seem to claim.
Don’t waste your time coming here. The food missed the mark in every single way. The sandwich was overly sweet- possibly consider it for dessert. The pizza was soggy and overly yeasty and the chicken was extremely dry. The service was not friendly and the food was atrocious. Pass on this one.
I went to Tiramasu Bistro today. The place looks nice and my waitress was friendly. I went into to read some paperwork so I was lounging there for a couple of hours. I ordered risotto, tea, side salad and cheesecake. I only ate half of the risotto and cheesecake, so it was packed to go. I felt fine before I got there but a short while after I ate, I started feeling sick. Tummy troubles. I let my server know. Shortly after that I left the restaurant. Only a couple minutes away, I threw up on the side street. I called the restaurant and the manager did call me back the same day but adamantly refused to believe that the food made me ill. She suggested I was sick prior to coming to their restaurant. At first she offered me my cash back but during the conversation changed her mind and only offered me a gift card if I said I was dissatisfied with the food. I explained that my stomach was dissatisfied and threw the food out of my body… she refused to give my money back and as I didn’t want to get sick again from the food served at Tiramasu, I declined the ‘generous’ offer of a giftcard. I informed her that I would post my experience as a review. She informed me that she can contact the Website owners and have the negative reviews removed… I hope that’s not the case.
On the outside I probably walked past this place twenty times always thinking it was a coffee shop. I didn’t realize it was a restaurant! I eventually got around to trying it and I found it wasn’t too bad! I’m pleased with the duck confit dishes they have on the menu as I’m a particular fan of duck and don’t feel like I see it often enough. There was a risotto and pizza to choose from, both which were reasonably good. Portion sizes were good and I always like a place where I can see the dessert. Ha ha ha! This was a nice quiet social setting. A great place to get together and relax.
Never heard of this place before but was quite excited to try it out. The risotto selections all sounded really mouthwatering but I ended up choosing the saffron risotto with duck confit since it was the special risotto of the day ($14 on Fridays and $18 all other days) which made decision-making so much easier. I’m not a huge expert on risotto dishes but it was something special and I want to go back for more. It was seasoned well and most importantly, there was enough duck with each bite. A majority of my friends also ordered it and as far as I can recall, they did not complain one bit. Service was excellent and the ambience was great. They also have a variety of wraps and pizza dishes but I’m definitely coming back to try the other risotto dishes in the future! oliveoiloilpaint.com
Loved it! I was taken out for lunch here and so I didn’t know what to expect. We meant to go for breakfast but got there too late and had lunch instead. We started with the pomodoro bruschetta. I loved that they put feta cheese on it, the flavours were amazing. It was a good size for an appy between the three of us. For my main I had the curry masala chickpea risotto, it was to die for. The flavours were unreal and it wasn’t too heavy, I ate the whole thing so fast. And for dessert we obviously had tiramisu, and it lived up to the restaurant’s name – it was hands down one of the best tiramisu I have ever had. The restaurant is located on 124 street so it’s great to walk around after and do a little boutique shopping. Highly recommend! franklyray.com
