Food was so, so. When I came, there was no salmon available and was still the same price. Service was excellent though. I would probably try again, maybe it was a bad night, but if there are missing items again on the menu I will not be returning.
One of our favourite restaurants – the sushi is fresh; the salmon pokie is to die for….really great value we feel….the staff is nice, the location is good…yummy!!!! the trick is not to overeat and roll your self home like a human sushi roll!
The go to spot for AYCE sushi. They have a wide selection of sushi, kitchen and other cooked menu offerings. This place is busy on most nights but you get in quick and food is at your table minutes after you submit your order. Love the fact that they have more options on the ayce vs other locations around the city. Drink menu is limited….but like all other ayce…get water..limit the drinks and max your value. Lol.
AYCE Sushi is so expensive nowadays. Watari is no exception. I believe I paid $30 for dinner.. which isn’t too bad since you get 10 pieces of sashimi per person. I’ve been here before and nothing has changed, meaning the menu and food quality is still the same. For an AYCE place you can’t expect too much so with that being said, Watari isn’t so bad. I noticed the sashimi cuts got a tad smaller. Still, I can’t complain. One thing I didn’t like was how they didn’t have dessert! This is possibly the only AYCE i’ve ever been to that didn’t offer dessert. Overall this isn’t my fave AYCE sushi in the city but if I’m in the area I wouldn’t mind going.
Wow, this place has really gone downhill. Most of the sushi tasted funny or had a weird texture that made me think it was not fresh. Most of the hot food was overcooked resulting in it being either too mushy or extremely dried out. This place is definitely off the list!
Above average and great menu. Salmon pokey is the best imo! Rainbow rice paper rolls / Fruit rolls sounds weird but works! DefinitelyI will come back.
We went because other reviews said they had a great selection. … what? No. No they do not. No soft shell crab. No scallop culets. No roe in the rolls, no tempura in the rolls. Rolls come in orders of 2 pieces! No no and NO. More expensive than Zen, not as fancy as Sumo Sumo , not as good as any others. I’m not sure how anyone could say it’s the best in Edmonton. It’s really not. Service was fast but they over charged us for four pops which came to 16 dollars extra. We fixed the problem but still… unfortunately we will not be back, we like our tempura bits in our rolls,we like our soft shell crab, and we like when we order a roll we get a roll and not just two pieces of a roll. Sorry – not sorry
