No no no…that’s all I have to say about my experience here. Stopped in for lunch last week excited to find an actual Hakka restaurant in Calgary or perhaps a place that serves great Hakka food. I’ve been to Taketomi, but their less than poor service keeps me away. Anyways, Slumdog’s location has been several Pakistani/Indian restaurants over the years and these guys have done a great job with the layout and decor, but the that’s about it. One girl working the dining room that didn’t have any knowledge of the menu. Ordered a mild chili chicken and some fried rice. First of all the portions are small, second of all the food is really bad. The chili chicken didn’t even taste like a Hakka style chili chicken let alone chicken and was way too spicy for being mild. It had chunks of flour or corn starch and the chef didn’t even bother removing the produce sticker from one of the green peppers. The fried rice wasn’t good either. Definitely won’t be back.
