I imagine if I grew up in Italy, eating on a patio with my extended family, this is the meal I would be served. Shareable plates of local tomato and pesto, giant meatballs, risotto, house made noodles with exotic cheese (this aint your standard fettuccine Alfredo folks), and a meat platter unlike anything else in the city. Im reaching for a bit of tenderloin with sweet onion and cheese before its all gone. Multi colour carrots and beets (ohhhh the beets…). Leave room for the kick ass goblet of tiramisu or gelato. You need to plan to be here a while and allow your group to enjoy a multi course meal as a special treat ($$$).
Absolutely wonderful meal and experience. This is truly one of Edmonton’s best kept secrets! I highly recommend Vivo to anyone looking to spoil themselves with one of the best meals they’ve ever had!!!
Fettuccini Alfredo – a must try, out of this world!, Caprese – the tomatoes were fresh, and the mozzarella melted when consumed, Branzino – the sea bass was succulent.
What happened!?!? Cold food, a blood filled board and salt seems to be a seasoning that doesn’t exist here. It hurt to spend so much money and leave unsatisfied and hungry. Homemade pasta? How was it so dry and bland. And coffee? Don’t ask they don’t serve that technical beverage here. Asked for a Spanish coffee or B52 for desert and and was told no. We cannot make that as we do not have a coffee maker. Wow!! 250$ dinner and cannot order a coffee? A solid Disappointed!! And do not recommend!
The food is consistently delicious and the service is always great. I do find that, for the quality of food, it is very overpriced. It’s great for date night; Otherwise with a larger party, it can be overwhelmingly expensive.
Had the rigatoni and lamb; both were decent– the lamb shoulder was the best of the 3 fares. Tiramisu was really good.
I have not had a culinary experience even close to this anywhere in Edmonton. You can’t go here thinking your having a light dinner, there is a purpose of this restaurant, executing high quality Italian dishes with a modern twist and they do it also lately perfectly.
