The location is right by the Superstore near Windermere. Clean and tidy like the other State & Main restaurants. Service was good and the food was decent. A good place for patio weather in the summer and a place to grab a quick bite. One of the better options for food in the area.
A sunny west facing Patio that great for an evening drink! Stopped by some craft pints and wings with friends Jonny and Carolina. Wings on for a great deal of .49 cents on Thursdays. Only 6 flavours but we tried salt and pepper, bbq, and buffalo and they were all great! The Patio has room for about 8 tables and is covered with umbrellas and 12 heaters just in case it gets a little chilly. Upscale sociable vibe and a great spot to watch the sun go down. Waitress was friendly, knowledgeable about the beers, and quick.Ambience: 6/10Food and Drink: 8/10Staff and Service: 8/10ONE CHANGE: Some Hanging flowers would definitely create more of a relaxing atmosphere.
Wonderful service from Kenzie! She was attentive and friendly, and the remainder of the staff were no different. Our party was seated quickly, and after ordering, our food arrived just as fast. Staff were knowledgeable about drink and menu items, which would specifically be helpful to anyone with dietary concerns. Our burgers were delicious, and the sides were no different. All in all, a great experience! Thank you!
We prefer this place over the socialhouse. Food is arugably better if you are looking for bar food, dont get the noodle soup. Beer is definitely better here.
Not as good as I’d hoped.I suppose there had to be a reason why the wait at Browns Socialhouse accross the street had a 2 hour wait…and State & Main only had a 30min wait for our party of 7. By this measure…the masses were already telling me something.I saying that…it wasn’t inherently bad.Just unimpressive in a world of similar offerings. We were thankfully able to squeeze in around the bar and indulge in some reasonsbly priced beverages. We waited for the entire 30min quote. Alas, they are unable to physically move their tables together, so we had to wait for a table big enough for our party to open up. The servers and bartenders were friendly enough.Once seated, we quickly decided on our dishes. They all came out in a reasonable time. Pretzel sticks were quite tastey. But our mains recieved mixed fealings. I tried the Chorizo Lasagna. It was quite boring. Frankly…BP’s makes better pasta than this. A friend had a steak sandwich and was unimpressed with both the small serving and the cut of the meat. All in all…our experience was ok..but not good enough to warrant returning.
We stopped in with a few friends last night just to try this place out. Reasons we had a great time: very friendly staff (that actually seem like they want to be there), lively atmosphere that was not too intrusive that we had to yell to be heard, and good food. Even though the place is a bit small the music was not that loud which made for cozy socializing. A nice selection of domestic and imported beer and some interesting cocktails worth a try next time. We enjoyed the bison burger, calamari, and lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps tasted like peanut butter and soy sauce (read: bland) and strangely romaine lettuce for the wraps (usually iceberg reducing the soggy factor). It fell short but the rest was pretty tasty. Our server suggested the dirt pie for dessert which didn’t disappoint! It was a chocolate-y good end to the night. Service never felt intrusive and if you like watching games there are plenty of TVs in the place! It feels laid back and relaxed here perhaps because of its location far from the buzz of the South Common. I’d visit again to meet friends in the area!
Went for brunch and the food was great. It’s nice that they have tvs where you can bring your child. Kristen was our server and she was awesome.
