Went to Blue Ocean for the first time. It was an okay experience. The cushion of seat at the booth I sat in kept flipping everytime I tried to lean forward. The price of the food is a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants Ive been to. The fish sauce that came with my pork and spring roll bun was unfortunately lacking in flavour. The decor was good and they were really busy with takeout orders. There are better options when it comes to Vietnamese.
This restaurant’s decor is very appealing, open and bright. The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. My friend and I both had pho. I had the rare beef and tendon and my friend had the rare beef and beef ball pho. The broth was little on the salty side for my taste but other than that both were good. This my first stop on finding a good pho restaurant close to home in Calgary. I would not hesitate to go back, but I will continue on my quest to find a favourite here.

I love this place! I only come here for the pho because their broth is amazing and authentic. This place is also reasonably priced. Wonderful place with spacey seating and awesome staff. Really really recommend. I would come back to support this small restaurant since it just opened.
The food is decent. Ordered the pork ball viet sub. Tasty but it was very light. I could eat two no problem. Needs more toppings so it’s filling. Special egg noodle soup not bad. A little bland but the deep fried wontons in them were awesome. Spring rolls good. Vermicelli with beef/pork was ok. sauce was bland and beef was super chewy. Grilled pork chops and shrimp on rice was good. Service is ok. Lady in the front is always super nice and tries so hard. Nice, clean cute decor. Will come back to support nice people. Not my favourite but it’s close and some things are hot and miss, just need to try different things to see what you like and what you don’t. Service is much better than Golden Bell across the street though!!! Pretty cheap. Bonus.
