Hidden gem in old downtown Abbotsford!. WOW! This place! I went here with my boyfriend on a Thursday night and the place was completely empty. After having had my food ( number 37, chicken with cashews), I had a hard time understanding how this place could be empty! This is legitimately one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Abbotsford! Other restaurants I like is Cactus Club, Milestones, Mucho Burrito, Lou’s Grill and that Malaysian place on South Fraser Way but the food at Phuket Thai is like out of this world (or at least out of this town), ESPECIALLY if you consider the prices – $10.36 for the dish I had is nothing! The service is good too, the waitress was really sweet to us and attentive. We’ll probably be going back about once a week, see you there I hope!!!
Rip off. Just ordered through the just eat website. They charged $3.00 for delivery through the site, fine that works. The delivery driver shows up and the bill was $4.20 more than I was expecting. When I questioned the driver she said the lady at Phuket Thai added another $4.20 delivery charge on top of the bill. I pointed out the fact that I was already charged $3.00 on the receipt. At this point either Phuket Thai or the delivery driver was trying to rip me off $7.20 total delivery charge for a $10 meal. Are you kidding me? A, won’t be going back to the restaurant. B, won’t be using justeat to order food ever again. Not sure who was trying to pull the wool over my eyes in this scenario but either way I’m pissed.
Very good food. The yellow curry was very good, and the Bangkok fried rice was honestly the best that I’ve had since travelling in the area, 5 years ago. My wife and I both looked at each other and remarked how the smell evoked such strong memories. We also had the pineapple fried rice which was good and the appies (spring rolls, crispy wontons, and chicken satay) were hot and flavourful. Unfortunately, we were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday night so I can’t see this place surviving the long haul. Our server was also very poor, very inattentive and kind of out to lunch. If the main cook was in a better location and the food was marketed a bit better, there would be a lineup out the door!
Last time me and my husband were returning from camping and decided to get some food at this place. It is very clean and nice place. Server was very welcoming. Food was delicious! Seafood sweet and sour soup was my favourite. Definitely coning back again.
I just came back from living in Phuket, Thailand for one year and was so thrilled to find Phuket Thai. Run by Thais, it’s as close it the real thing as you can get here on this side of the world. I’ve tried countless thai restaurants in the lower mainland and the interior and by far Phuket Thai is the yummiest. The som tam (papaya salad) tastes so close to what you’d find in Thailand. No other thai restaurant here had been able to make a good som tam! Very friendly service as well. Myfavourite restaurant!
Everyone needs to eat here! It’s definitely a hidden gem! The owner is always so nice and friendly and the Tom Ka soup is out of this world! You can taste the authenticity in every bite and you can tell that the owner is an extremely hard worker. Forever loyal to Phuket Thai! It’s amazing !
Wow! What a hidden gem. The best Thai food I’ve ever had! Just discovered it two weeks ago and have been back 4 times. Everything on the menu so far has been fabulous.
