Good food, but the service was iffy. Very expensive, and not substantially better than other nearby options. I had a roll combo, nothing blew me away, although my friend had the Bene Roll and it was amazing.

Ordered rice in hot Stone bowl and it was absolutely tasteless. Service not good. We did not leave a tip and the server gave us a strange look.

The food was nothing special while the staff was extremely disorganized, and slow. They had a waiting list that they couldn’t figure out and took people who had just walked in. They do not check on your food, had to ask multiple times for water to be filled. Could be a lot better if staffed was trained and they communicated with each other.

I had been intending on writing a review on Bene Sushi for a while since I have been here a couple of times already. Although I am by no means a sushi connoisseur, my girlfriend is. Well kind of. She is big on sushi so we are always trying out new places to find the best. While Vancouver has many, this one is more conveniently located to us.This is one of the better sushi spots in the area. A lot might complain about it being expensive but everything in the area is. While the sushi itself is not bad (check out their rolls), I feel like the wait staff is extremely inexperienced. Every single time there is an extraneous wait for everything – from being acknowledged to receiving water. Having to spend an extra hour to receive everything for twice the price than in other places does not do this place any favours.

Absolutely terrifying experience!!! I just had a family dinner there and we got served a bowl of ednamame that was already consumed by others!!! How did we find out? I was trying to squeeze the beans out by hand for my kids and I immediately knew after the 3rd try they were actually consumed with no beans inside. FRIGGING DISGUSTING! I reported the problem to the server who was totally clueless… so it got to this lady manager… she didn’t even want to do much about it other than offering a free bowl of ednamame plus a couple desserts for kids… is this how you make you disgusted, upset customers feel better? How would you feel if somebody got you to touch others’ saliva, let alone putting it into your mouth? Had I put those beans into my own mouth, I would have sued this place, no question about it! I warn all of you… this place doesn’t care much about attention to detail and customer satisfaction… no disrespect to the Koreans but there’s a reason why I prefer Japanese owned/operated sushi restaurants! They don’t give a crap about properly compensating customers if they had similar incidents like ours….

Pleasant and Merry Experience During Holiday Season. I have heard and read so many positive reviews about Bene Sushi Restaurant and I was excited that I finally had a chance to try them out this Christmas season when my friend came to visit. Everything was absolutely great and this still is an understatement. Our dining experience was bolstered not only by their delicious dishes but also by their professional services. The ambiance was perfect for some hot sake and a long catching-up conversation with my friend. Their Toro and Uni were especially fresh and we were satisfied with the portions and other sashimis as well. The servers were attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone living / visiting West Van. I am glad that this high-quality Japanese restaurant exists in West Van and will be coming back here often.

Unique. Rather small portion but very good. I really like the baked salmon roll. The cream cheese just makes it taste perfect.
