We first-discovered Khob Khun a year+ ago. We so enjoyed everything about that initial dining experience, the restaurant has been our place to go for several additional tastes of their Thai cuisine since then.Its a small, family-owned and operated place, located in the Austin Heights area of Coquitlam, a neighbourhood very close to ours. And offers a bright, colourful, and welcoming ambiance, and friendly, nicely-personal, and helpful service to enjoy its wonderful food offerings.Food shared there: kinds, and names of dishes, as per the restaurants menu listings.- Appetizers Calamari (Squid) Tao Hu Tod (Tofu) Chicken Stuffed (Wings) Fish Cakes Crystal Tapioca Pork Balls- Curries Green Curry w/Pork Massaman Curry w/Beef- Stir Fries Pad Khing w/Pork Drunken Seafood Beef Oyster Sauce Ka Nah Moo Krob Seafood Pad Pong Karee Pad Ma Kue w/Chicken- Fried Rice Thai Fried Rice- Noodles Khao Soi (Curry Noodles) Pad Se-ew w/Chicken- Rice Steamed Rice- Desserts Deep Fried Banana and Ice cream, and Mango w/Sticky RiceFood presentations: dishes have always arrived from kitchen to table in an appropriate sequence, each, whether attractively-garnished, or not, looking so bright, colourful, and pretty on the plain white backgrounds of the differently-shaped, and rather nice serving dishes – so appealing to the senses.Food preparations: preparations back up the mouth-watering presentations – with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and solid preparations and for us, to the appropriate level of heat from spices and other seasonings used (we usually ask for medium, if the dish indicates its spicy), which allows us to savour the distinctive flavours, rather than trying to erase the spicy heat from them. The dishes we have ordered, have provided a wide-range of different kinds of foods and preparations, each with their distinctive textures, exciting flavours, and tastes.Our dining experiences at Khob Khun have been a delight. And with each, I truly believe we have experienced the love & care the owners put into the operations, and food preparations of their great little restaurant.
