came here during late dinner, pre ordered the omasun with ginko soup, taste very peppery, and other items as well, and ordered deep fried tofu, which is not the best option but got to live with that by paying $15 for it. place looks very run down from the outside, broken blinds and doesn’t seem to be open for business, but the inside is completely different story mangkr.wordpress.com
Its just so BAD! The second dish came sososo slow after the soup and its a wrong dish that we didnt order at all. The prawn and eggplant was fair good. The veggie was so hard to bite. The chicken was not well cooked and very salty. The private room right by our table is so smoky! If they allow guests smoking in the restaurant, they should separate the room into smoking and nonsmoking area. No one asked us about that. Anyway, its a very very bad experience eating there. And the awarded dishes are not neither that good. Soup, prawn and eggplant, chicken, a mushroom something, over $100. No worth of it. never come back.
Very disappointed and never go back after all these years. We have been dining at bamboo grove for more than 20 years. My whole family just went to have dinner last Friday. It used to be packed, but that night was only 60% full. There used to be some special, 4-6 dishes with a free complimentary crab. The waiter said those specials are no longer available ( when we left, we saw a customer looking at those special menu! WTF?) The waiter was trying very hard to make us order some expensive seafood dishes. He tried so hard that whatever my mom ordered, he would suggest something & try to make her change. That is totally ridiculous! We love the deep fried chicken, but when the dish came, there was barely any chicken on the plate with all these fried chips totally covering it. It really looks like the waiter took the leftover plate from another table and gave it to us. Everything is in small portions now, we used to have so much leftovers, that ain’t gonna happen now. The service really sucks, and the same waiter harassed my mom and made totally inappropriate remarks. The bill is much more expensive than before with way smaller portions, lousy service and much less delicious. The restaurant is definitely going through the busting cycle now, and no doubt the restaurant owner had a long face for the whole night. My family will Never go back to this place again. RIP.
Tasty but oily dishes. I found their dishes too oily but rich in taste. Every table ordered the pork stomach soup is very rich in taste, the Stir-Fried Tiger Prawns With Minced Pork And Eggplant, and the Black Vinegar ribs. We ordered the black vinegar ribs but they ended up giving us a sweet & sour pork. The batter was too thick. The prawns are gigantic and there were only 6 of them. Someone mentioned that it is 30% higher in price but it is also comes in bigger servings. So it’s better to come in larger groups. This place is loud and many of the tables served wines. We found there were more younger generations than I expect in other Chinese restaurants.
The deep fried dishes were atrocious. The oil had to be old old old and this was on a busy Saturday.Service was.average.
Friends birthday dinner. Mediocre food.Horrible customer service.Very dirty.Even though they accept credit cards, they sometimes will say no and just shake their heads and stare at you. No prepaid visa and mastercard gift cards will be allowed either.Horrible parking as well. Would not recommend to anybody for any type of occasion.
Very delicious Chinese food!! Service is average but The good food makes up for it.
