Too much MSG added to the food. I have a terrible headache & dry mouth before I finish my dinner! The dishes are very salty & the dessert is really sugary (not natural sweet)
This seems to my family’s go to dim sum restaurant in Richmond. Their dim sum selection is fairly expansive and covers most of our favourites. We especially enjoy their taro duck dumplings, well made, tasty and fairly light though deep fried. The staple dim sum items har goes and siu mais are always good. Even with reservations prepare to wait a bit longer.
located at London Plaza 2nd floor beside London Drugs (Westminster Hwy and No. 3 Road) parking is horrendous in this area, so carpool if you must, take the skytrain and get off Brighouse station (short walk). If you are a cool and patient driver, go ahead and park, just make sure go to the top levels as parking wars is evident in this area daily! make a reservation if you must, weeks ahead I suggest 10%? off dimsum if you arrive and order before 11am Dimsum prices on the higher end $7-15 Know what to order ahead so you don’t have to wait for a long time, although service is fast no roaming carts so its paper based order Food taste for sure is delectable! One of the best dimsum places I’ve been. The flavour is that good! Good service
My favourite dim sum so far. Their service is amazing – they’re very fast to act and friendly. Their food has the traditional flavours especially the beef tripe, steamed beef balls, chicken feet and I love their lotus wrap sticky rice. Only thing I don’t like is their shrimp crepe. Good pricing with deals in the morning. Definitely recommend! stephykeung.com
My new favorite dim sum place! I have not been to every restaurant that serves it but I have been to enough. I am guessing that it is a favorite of many others also so my advice is to make a reservation! Many of the plates we had were the best versions that we have had, such as the steamed shrimp dumplings which had nice big pieces of shrimp which were perfectly cooked. Steamed chicken feet with Chu Hou sauce was also excellent; meaty (maybe not quite the right word) with a tasty sauce. Deep fried duck and mashed taro pastries were sublime. So delicate that I crushed the first one with my rudimentary chop stick skills. The duck part was not entirely evident but I’m sure that it must have been in the mix. Pan fried pork buns served with metal plate was novel. The bottoms of the buns were nicely browned and served on a bed of onions. Steamed rice rolls were fine if not inspirational and finally, we tried baked egg tarts (inspired by Sherman’s Food Adventures) and these were wonderful. Flaky tart crust and delicate egg custard. The staff were kind enough to bring forks without being asked (of course, we refused to give in and use them!). Service was very good in spite of the place being crazy busy on Saturday morning. $40 before tip seems like a very good deal. I have paid a lot more. Highly recommended! yeswereeatingagain.com
Horrible. First time in BC and this restaurant was recommend to us. We ended up walking out. Went in and we were 2nd in line. After ignoring us and continue to speak Chinese to the other patrons she finally acknowledged we were there. The Lady said they were busy so it’ll be about 15-20 mins … Other people continued to come and from there expression sounded like they were told the same. The server however continued to put people in front of us. Us being non-Chinese we didn’t really know what they were saying, but she kept looking our way before proceeding to seat people in front of us. We figured some may have had reservations but after 30 mins of waiting and 5 groups being seated we asked how much longer. At this point another girl was attending the line and she couldn’t comment, said to wait for the other lady, but the lady just kept ignoring us. Wouldn’t even make eye contact. We left hungry, frustrated, and felt like because we weren’t Chinese we were 2nd rate and unwanted. Doesn’t matter how good the food is if the front line service sucks
This place serves delicious dim sum. My favs are shrimp dumpling, sticky rice in lotus leaf, beef Cheung fun, baked, tapioca pudding. But the wait is always very long on weekends even if you have made a reservation.
