First of all, the servers are friendly. For me, an Asian restaurant with friendly staffs is rare. As for the food, weve only tried 3 dishes, Satay Chicken, Char Kway Teow and Kari Laksa. I am from Malaysia, the taste of their Char Kway Teow, well they pretty much nail it! The only complain I have is the shrimps dont have any shrimp taste, and you might need a magnify glass to find a few slices of Chinese sausage. The Kari Laksa is nothing special. You can just go to your local Asian grocery store and buy a can of Aroy-D or Yeos Instant Curry and Coconut milk to make it by yourself. Now the Satay Chicken it tasted NOTHING like Satay (the sauce is even worse!!). Authentic Satay Chicken always has at least 1/4 fat and is grilled on top of charcoal (or torch the Satay) for the special burning flavor. And their version of Satay is most likely baked, and WITH honey?? Yes, honey on Satay! If theyve labelled the dish as Honey Chicken Skewer, then I would have accepted it. But to call it Satay, that is just misleading, and added insult to the word Satay.
Sooo good!!!! The Haianese chicken so smooth and boneless. Great ratio between rice and chicken. Laksa was flavourful and creamy!Same quality as the one in North Vancouver
Went to this place for lunch on a weekday. A work friend whom is a Malaysia Chinese brought me here as he told me he finds the home feel from the food offered here. I tried two dishes in the shown picture. although it is tend toward the salty side for me, I still found the rice was very good. The green bean dessert was okay, I think it would be much better if I try it in summer time. Definitely will return and try other food.
good service (best time to go is 6 for dinner – otherwise expect to wait and the wait line is in the back so you can’t see it from the front)good food (one of the better malaysia restaurant imo)free parking in the backfamily friendlyif i had to choose 1 dish: hainanese chicken with hainanese ricewould i go back? yes
