Matcha Crepe cake is awesome! It is not too sweet, and with a strong flavor of matcha. If you are a matcha lover, you must have a try! The only problem is that the room is too crowded.
I visited L’opera last month for the first time and bought their rose and chestnut and mango tart because I love tarts <3 I shared with my friends and they all tasted GREAT! They were pricy but I thought they were worth it. So I decided to go back last Saturday for Mother's day and bought all of their tarts. But this time it was very disappointing. The tart was very soggy and chalky. It was like eating cooking dough… There was not much cream inside and even tasted different too 🙁 it was very disappointing since I bought them for mother's day.
there is no parking around the restaurant but there is across the street. You might have to check out the stores across the street to save $ for parking or otherwise pay parking where Sheraton hotel is this is a very small place, its perfect for 2 people either meeting up with your bff or partner not a lot of sweet desserts to choose from but I’m sure it will satisfy your palate share a piece or 2 Debit or cash if less than $15, more than that credit card ok
I would never go here again and I would spread my words out, especially on all my we chat groups and other social media!!!!! I had been there 2 years ago and I loved this place. However, the high tea experience we had yesterday is totally unacceptable. I brought my mom there for her very first time as we thought it would be the same. The place is super small and packed and we knew this already before we go. However, the place was super cold that you couldn’t even take off your jacket at all and we asked them to turn up the heat, the reply was that they can’t otherwise their fridge would become foggy. Can’t they just turn it up first to at least warm up the air and then turn back down? We were the only customers there when we requested that. We paid for $55 per high tea and there were 4 of us. This is the most expensive high tea in the city and couldn’t we just deserve to have a better environment and at least we can sit back and relax and enjoy the high tea? Second, the food was just too heavy and salty and made you can’t finish the whole set when It would have been so easy to finish at other high tea places (if you are reading this, try soffee cafe on 8th Ave and you will just love that place) We had to packed the sweets back home. Thirdly, the chair that they have provided was broken and we have to change to some other chairs ourselves. The chairs were so old. Fourthly, we were asked to choose one macaroon for each from their display. Many had been sold out and not many choices left. However, they refilled the fridge after we have finished chosen it. So what does that mean? They wanted us to choose what’s left and leave the fresh one for others? Overall, this is the worst but yet the most expensive high tea I have ever been to. This will be my only and last time there. If there’s negative stars that I can rate, I would definitely do so. I should have given $0 tips
The place is small but neatly decorated. I went near closing so there wasn’t a lot of people. If you’re looking for high tea service in Richmond, this is one of the few choices outside of Vancouver and it’s not bad. You need to tell them beforehand if you want high tea service so they can prepare for you. Had the matcha opera cake, the matcha flavor was very strong. I’d be interested to try their macarons and other desserts next time.
It was national macaron day and i decided to try more than one place, my first stop was L’Opera Patisserie and it did not disappoint! They had several flavours and all had the perfect bite and texture. The packaging was also adorable which never hurts (; . My one minor complaint is that they are a bit smaller than the average macaron size and so they are a bit more pricey, but still way more worth than a few other places I’ve tried in vancouver!
I was searching for high tea restaurant in richmond and didn’t know there’s one near richmond center so I came here with my sister. The high tea is $45 per person. The set looks very nice. It’s too bad they don’t have vegetarian ones. Everything taste pretty good and its so cute.
