Authentic Chiu Chow cuisine. Love their pepper pork stomach soup. One of the best in Greater Vancouver. Their soy marinated duck also very flavorful. If you are lucky or if you preorder, you might be able to get the soy marinated goose. They often very dinner sets at very reasonable pricing.
This is not a traditional Chinese chic chow cuisine. All food tasted bad. The worst was the Fried Egg Noodle Serve with Sugar & Vinegar, for it used cheap and low quality noodles, despite its wired colour. The Steamed Sponge Cake was not tasted like traditional Sponge Cake. It tasted like a muffin. Both of the Chiu Chow Marinated Duck and Chiu Chow Marinated Pig Intestines were not fresh. The skin of the Steamed Duo Crystal Dumplings were too thick. The Deep Fried Pawn Balls were not crispy. There were little oysters in the Chiu Chow Fried Oyster Omelette.
made a reservation for 10:30 for 9, and we arrived on time. But the hostess was a mess! I got no response after I told them about my arrival! I went to the manager and he said the reservation is only for priority to a table, so we still have to wait. I’ve waites now for 30 mins and still no table. So much for reservation! Wow! One of the worest run restaurant I’ve experienced!
Chiu Chow Dim Sum LunchWent there on a Sunday – a table for 2Quite overcrowded however lucky to have a table for 2 in less than 5 minutes. Tried their Pan Fried Chiu Chow Rice Noodles, Chiu Chow Pork Dumplings w. Peanuts, Steamed Crispy Minced Fish Rice Rolls, Steamed Chicken Wraps, Pan Fried Lotus Root & Fish Paste Pan Cakes.The Chiu Chow Rice Noodles Plate was quite tasty, give a thumb on this . The Steamed Crispy Minced Fish Rice Rolls were a bit too salty and not very crispy. Other dim sums were of above average quality however not very outstanding. Quality of tea was good though….Overall comment : restaurant environment, services and food quality were all ok but a bit pricey compared to other Chinese restaurants in Richmond of the same standard. Not bad to visit it once in a while.
Went on a weekday with reservations. No wait at all. Service was mediocre, had to ask for tea fill ups & staff didn’t look happy. Food was not bad, although some dishes we felt were a bit bland. Nice little quiet place for dim sum though.Dinner specializes in more Chiu Chow style dishes. Their duck is delicious. Oyster pancake was scrumptious and not too oily. Fried rice was a little bland and dry though. Ribs were crispy and tangy but too big and hard to eat. Cold crab was delicious especially with the dark vinegar. Service was lacking (might be understaffed). Seem to experience unhappy servers the times I’ve gone.
