Hidden away in Richmond, a small restaurant that is always packed full of people. The broth for the two soups were really delicious, and as we wanted to control how spicy it was, we asked for the chilli pepper on the side to add ourselves it was perfect! Perfect bite sized deep fried wontons were also yummy! Servers are super busy, but always willing to help with a smile. My new go to Korean restaurant!

January 23, 2018I feel like to have some casual Korean food for lunch after work. One of my friend highly recommended this place, why not give it a try.2 of us had:small size of seafood pancake— so crispy outside/ tasty/ a lot of squid inside.. we love it…Beef bone soup and came with small bowl of rice on side… Beef bone was so soft and tasty, but the soup base was extremely salty for us.Deep fried dumpling– nothing special.I recognized one of the Korean short hair server was working at Lansdowne’s Korean restaurant before. She also recognized me as well..Services are nice and fast. Most of their customers are Korean..Will try their noodles in soup next time. I saw they got big portion of noodles..

Arrived on a rainy Sunday afternoon around one o’clock and Samsoonie was packed. Luckily, as a party of one this time, I was seated right away and served tea. I ordered the Pork Back Bone Stew in a Hot Pot (which has become my obsession) and the server advised me that this is usually very spicy. They graciously prepared it a little milder so as to keep me from sweating all over their furniture. It arrived at my table bubbling hot and was very good with meaty bones that I tore into with abandon. I am not sure what manners dictate; I think that as long as I am not throwing stuff…Meaty, tasty broth and some greens and sprouts rounded it out! I started with 5 Deep fried Dumplings (Samsoonie is on Richmond’s dumpling trail) which were also very good. Banchan consisted of a very good Kimchi (I try to eat Kimchi every day for my health!) and sprouts that were nicely flavoured with sesame oil. On a previous visit (they were not nearly as busy), my partner and I had the Seafood Ramen, a Seafood Pancake which was excellent, crispy, full of seafood and comes in two serving sizes which is a great option, and a very good Dolsot Bipimbap (my previous obsession at Korean restaurants). Both times we found service gracious and efficient. This is not a large place but it is comfortable and welcoming. yeswereeatingagain.com

Such a great place to eat at if you are planning to go shopping, as Pricesmart is located right next to it. I arrived at 11:30am for lunch, and the place was almost full by 12pm.I was really impressed by the serving sizes- there was a huge bowl of Ramen (I ordered the Choyu flavour) for only $12. Unfortunately, the pork in the ramen was cut really thickly, which was a bit annoying, and it was a little hard too. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the food there! The service is good but they aren’t super fast so cook the food. Average broth, but a very decent portion of ramen. Recommend it if you want an easy meal for a good price!

The first thing I just say is that food here is at a great value! We ordered the Katsu and the fish cakes with noodles. They came with side dishes that i suspect change regularly, but always consists of at least Kimchi. Side dishes we received were lightly spicy fish cakes. They’re delicious! As for our meals, the Katsu portion was massive!! Two pork chops, a big bowl of rice, side of fries and a healthy portion of refreshing cabbage. The Katsu was juicy and crispy… Perfect. The spicy noodles and fish cakes were also a good portion. Definitely enough to feed two. They were sweet and spicy, very tasty and authentic. The whole meal (which yielded lots of leftovers) was only about 30$ for a meal that could easily feed 3 people. Overall a great place for lunch or dinner!

I came here for lunch with a friend and really felt the family-style of this restaurant. I ordered one of my favourite Korean dishes – spicy rice cakes and my friend ordered the chicken katsu. Portions are also very generous (please see my pictures) and the rice cakes came with all the usual ingredients of assorted fish cakes, instant noodles, chives, and an egg! I chose the spiciness to be mild as I can’t take too spicy. The spice level turned out fine for me and the ratio of rice cakes to the rest of the ingredients were perfect. The katsu came with fresh french fries, a side of salad, and rice – all very tasty. The katsu was also very well done and breaded. I enjoyed both of our orders.Their menu has a variety of choices and very ‘user-friendly’ with pictures and English, very easy to read. I definitely want to go back to try a bulgogi dish as well as katsu (I want my own)! secondspls.blogspot.com
