Most authentic and tasty Shanghai restaurant in Richmond BC! Some stand out dishes include: Xiao Long Bao, Sheng Jian Bao (pan fried pork dumplings), Drunken Chicken, Ma Lan Tou (tofu salad), Hot and Sour Soup, and Tan Tan Noodles (peanut sauce noodles). A must try restaurant if you are looking for traditional shanghai food, but be prepared to wait for seats if you haven’t made reservations!
I understand they were busy at lunch time. If my dad didn’t recommend it, I would’ve never went. The food was ok, but the service was terrible. The servers never came to my table, they needed to be hailed multiple times to come to my table. They looked at us weired when we have Asian face but don’t speak Mandarin. I know it is a common scene in Richmond that servers almost refused to serve people if they don’t speak Mandarin. All my white friend havd had this experience in Richmond, hopefully not at this restaurant as well. I felt like I had to beg them to bring me food. Never again
We went there around 7, tables are all full, they put me on the waiting list a table for 3, I asked the server how long we need to wait, she answered me when someone leave then you guys can sit. Im not asking where to sit, I just want to know how long do I need to wait for it. Tables are very close to each other! Very crowed! The food is ok but all the dishes are very salty! Have to drink lots water!
This was the second time here, it didn’t disappoint. The food is consistent and their xie long Bao was well made, delicate wrap with the right amount of seasoned meat and balance of soup. The pan fried pork buns were also well made, shanghai noodles were pretty standard and the rice cakes mixed with three kinds of seafood was lightly seasoned without being heavy handed.
If I could give it -4 I would, We had travelled to abc for business and wanted some authentic Chinese food. We walked in and was motioned to sit a a table. After sitting we were brought some tea then it went downhill Some workers came in carrying some huge lighted signs and started installing them with horrible noise. No apology from them we were brought soup then saw no one other people who came in after us were served promptly after 20 min we asked where our main course was the waiter said that they were working on a large to go order and it should be ready in fifteen minutes. We asked for the bill for the soup paid $10.99 for a bowl of soup walked out to never return
Didn’t like any of the dishes I ordered here! The pork in the Xiao long bao tasted undercooked, both the beef roll and fried noodles were too greasy and overall it was just not a great experience that would make me want to give this place another chance.
Service was incredibly bad even for a Chinese restaurant. Servers gave us attitude, visibly ignored us, we had to demand our tea which took 15 minutes, and had to practically beg them to take order. Food was good though and came out fast.
