Ate here twice. First time at about 4.00pm we were famished from a long drive and needed a pick me up.The service was efficient and we ordered Hongkong Boat congee and century egg congee. Both were excellent. So was the deep fried wantons we had to go along. It was packed solid with prawn flesh and fried perfectly. The next evening we could not resist to go back for dinner. This time we ordered their noodles. I had noodles with beef brisket. It was excellent. The others opted for the congee and noodles. We were not disappointed. We had also their wanton is red chillie oils. It was good, by Canadian standards.Service was what I reckoned to be family members though I think the main lady server cashier etc. could be less stern faced.Good value for moneyAnd I am a fussy old Chinese man who has tramped the world but mainly spoilt by a wide international choice of excellent Singaporean food.
July , 1, 2017I went there for dinner with dad and hubby before watch fireworks. But everything too oily for me and made me had stomachache.. it’s end up rude my plan… can’t go anywhere. They served us rose wine chicken (extremely oily/ uncooked/ no rose wine taste) , guy lan with oyster sauce and braised pork feet (soft/ oily/ no taste), they gave it to us in 2 minutes. They served us stired fried bean sprouts shredded pork on noodles ( big portion of noodles, but hardly find pork meat inside) , they gave it to us after 5 minutes. Looks like they don’t need to cook. It’s not busy.. we suppose go to speciality chicken restaurant… but too many people waited for seat and at least wait for half hour.. it’s end up… Tried this restaurant instead.2 points for services only.
I lucked out on parking out front on a late Sunday afternoon around 1pm. When I walked into the joint it was dead and we got a seat right away. I’ve read alot of other posts here that the beef brisket is a hit or miss. I decided to take a risk and order the brisket and wonton egg noodle soup. My girlfriend didn’t know what to order so she got the Thai fried rice.Service is 5/5. I believe the guy who served us was the owner and is pretty cool. Thai fried rice was ok. Nothing made it Thai but chilies haha. Still, it’s enjoyable. Goulesters on cambie has a way better Thai fried rice. The beef brisket and wonton egg noodle soup is DELICIOUS. My experience with this dish was pleasant. They had some bbq satay oil sauce on the side that gave it an extra layer of flavor.I must say… Their in house wonton dumplings are pretty good. I would definitely come back again and try out their late night menu.Btw there are two prices for the beef and wonton egg noodle soup. The more expensive price comes with a drink of your choice.
came in here after a few days after new year, was curious because it’s near the area where i was staying and it’s noodles, definitely i’m a big fan of egg noodles type or any type of noodles. and so came in after was seated after a few minutes, ordered a few dishes, some dishes that i ordered are actually not noodles, ordered their wontons, clams, chicken with cashew and green/red pepper, and brocolli with tofu.overall the food was definitely okay, recommends the wonton because of the ingredients, and the rest are definitely good, the food tenderness and softness are well cooked to it’s right firmness. mangkr.wordpress.com
