Vegetarian Food with Passion. A minimum charge of $15 per person, rice & tax included. You can choose one dish from the menu. Dim sums are $5 each. Chinese tea also included. They use very good quality tea leaves. There’s a warmer on every table to keep your teapot hot.The servers are all volunteers, I think. Service was good, food was cooked like home, very nice! One of my favourite.

Fantastic!. I always go to the Buddhist Temple to pay respect and have only tried their restaurant recently and boy, I’ve missed out all those times! It was truly a zen experience! For $15 I got a very generous serving of rice, vegetables, and various tofu-derived vegetarian pieces that taste amazing. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained; they serve the meal in a take-out plastic bowl even if the customer eats in. The volunteers are nice and accommodating. I’d definitely be a returning customer!

Good vegetarian lunch. First of all, this place is now called Zen kitchen, and its is a non-commercial enterprise. It is a place where one can have a vegetarian lunch when visiting the International Buddhist Temple at Steveston Rd in Richmond BC.For a donation of $15 per person, one can have a main entree such as vegetarian noodle (from a list of about 8 entrees) or three dim sum dishes (from a list of about 8, although not all 8 may be available any given day). Soup dishes are also available, and lunch comes with tea served (choice available). The vegetarian dishes are very good. The place is very clean and peaceable, and the staff able to speak good English. Not hesitation in recommending this one to vegetarians. Its open from 12 noon to 3 pm.

Absolutely Delicious Vegetarian Food!! Cannot Miss!!. Since being a vegetarian two years ago, I have tried out a number of vegetarian establishments across North America and Asia, and this place is definitely one of the top on my list. Zen Kitchen is located within one of North America’s finest and most exquisite Buddhist Temples. The elaborate Chinese architecture there is absolutely breathtaking from the moment you arrive at the parking lot. After touring the Temple’s magnificent buildings and statues, we made our way to the newly opened Zen Kitchen. The decor there is very nicely designed with beautiful Chinese art and calligraphy adorned on the walls. The dining environment is also remarkably serene and meditative, giving you a overall sense of well-being even before you taste the very first dish. We ordered all the highly recommended dishes from the server (e.g. flat noodle appetizer, Lo Han vegetable chow mein and the seaweed beancurd roll, etc.) and they were all absolutely delicious.I honestly have to say that having dined at so many Chinese restaurants in the past, I have never tasted better chow mein than what we had at Zen Kitchen. The table next to us said the same about their fried rice. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and flavor of the food, and will definitely be dining there more frequently. For any vegans and vegetarians out there in the lower mainland, you owe it to yourself to give this place a try. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
