Read the good review, so we came! Was not disappointed at all. The dim sums were good and tasty. We ordered Beef Meatballs, Steam Spare Ribs, BBQ Pork Buns, Deep Fried Taro Dumplings, Steam Beef Tripe Pieces, Chicken Feet and Egg Tarts. All dishes were delicious and the most important was that they maintained the traditional tastes which we love.
Like an Olympic judge, I automatically ignore reviews of 1 or 5. I notice these reviews are usually posted as someones only review effort indicating: a) reviews of 1 are people who want to vent about their one bad experience (or day) and b) reviews of 5 are from some relative of the chef. So we came to check out for ourselves. We arrived at 10:45 on Sunday and waited 20 minutes for a table. Perfectly acceptable for a Sunday morning. Make a reservation. Dim Sum is cart style which is fun except for the temptation to try everything that comes along and fill up too quickly! We liked everything we tried. The rice rolls and shrimp dumplings both had a generous amount of shrimp in largish chunks. The chicken feet were OK; on the meaty side but not the top of my chicken feet list (chicken foot list?). We tried the beef tendon (my first time for that) which I enjoyed although they seemed to be sauced pretty much the same as the chicken feet with noticeable 5 spice flavour. The barbecue pork pastries were also tasty. Mango pudding to finish was very nice. The cart pushing ladies were all very friendly and were willing to go find us what we wanted and didn’t see. The host could smile occasionally so that we don’t think he hates his job. All in all, not a bad experience for dim sum and saves the drive to Richmond (personally, I will chose the drive in the future). yeswereeatingagain.com
Came here and put my name down on the list and about 12 other people came after me. They called my name but because the other 2 people I was waiting for were 5 minutes out they wouldn’t seat me. I’m 8 months pregnant and they made me wait and seated the others that came after me first.
Greasy, greasy, greasy! Dinner is awful. We ordered wonton soup; OVERCHARGED, broth is awful…, house special chow mein…cheap noodles you would get better at a Chinese food court, when we were ready to pay, the manager reduced the bill to 10% since we were not happy. That was a joke. Don’t go here for dinner! Luxe….change to Suxe Restaurant.
Luxe is my family’s go to place for dim sum on the weekends or Peking duck for when my parents feel like treating the family to something special. We’ve been going to Luxe for years now, and they’ve always been consistent with great service and food. It gets very busy on the weekends! Reservations are really recommended.Dim Sum: My dad loves the cart based item ordering. The dim sum ladies are always very friendly; if you ask them for a particular item they can give a timeframe on when it’s likely to be on a cart or get an order to the kitchen for you. I love the egg tarts when they’re fresh and still hot!Dinner: Peking duck here is done very well. They prepare the duck in front of you, my dad loves that too! They have a good variety of dishes here and the staff during dinner are wonderful.
Favourite dim sum place! The food is so great and the service is good too! But during dim sum times you should reserve a table ahead of time because it’s always busy. I love everything there try there off dim sum menu too!
The Luxe has the best Dim Sum in the Langley/Surrey areas. I have had Dim Sum in many places being a Chinese cuisine lover and had Dim Sum in many places around the lower mainland. If you want better Dim Sum or Chinese food you will have to go to China Town in Vancouver or to Richmond where the competition amongst the various restaurants drives the quality up and you will find excellent food there…but here in Langley/Surrey at the Luxe Restaurant your Dim Sum experience will be great and very comparable to China Town / Richmond. The staff at the Luxe are always friendley and ready to help, They give you the best service around. I recomend the Luxe to all who desire great Chinese food and Dim Sum around the Langley area.
