Ordered in a pick up order from this restaurant, ordered a salmon and cream cheese roll and sashimi. Picked up my order and got sashimi which was great, and a smoked salmon cream cheese roll, which is very different from a regular cream cheese roll. It is smoked salmon not regular salmon, plus it has artificial crab in it (which I cannot eat). I called the restaurant and politely explained what happened and asked if I could please have a credit for next time I go in, since I go to there all the time and I don’t live very close to the restaurant. The girl told me her boss said no, so I asked if they could please remake it for me and I would go in to pick it up because I couldn’t eat this. Again, the girl told me her boss said no. They said the order was repeated back (which it was not) and that they couldn’t do anything. This whole conversation, the girl I was speaking with on the phone was yelling to her manager, instead of the manager speaking to me themself. As a repeating customer to this restaurant I was very taken aback that they had made the error on their end, yet they refused to fix my order for me. I was literally on the phone for 5 minutes arguing over a roll that I paid for that I didn’t order and being refused to come pickup the correct item. So I paid for a roll I could not eat.. Even if I was incorrect (which I was not as I order this roll every..single..time.. I go for sushi), the customer is always right. I will not be returning and giving them my service again.
this was probably my 10th visit to this place and this time i was not pleased at all. I ordered saba sushi which is an easy dish for an appetizer and it showed up last (what a joke an to top the stress it tasted like shit, i have have some wonderful dishes of this in the past visits. I had the volcano sushi dish it tastes well but i could not get the unit to my mouth without it breaking up in five pieces before getting it into my mouth, i got zero n my mouth and had to eat the pieces form my spill plate. I really don’t know what has happened here since the restaurant had activated a health audit and was closed for awhile. I left a good tip but I will never return to that restaurant again eve though its just down the street from me . Onward I will search for Sushi Q
Such pretty look place but such disappointing food. I would say the cooked food were okay, but don’t bother ordering the sashimi. I ordered hotate (scallop), and spotted prawn sashimi, but there is absolutely no flavour to it. Obviously previously frozen and then probably didn’t thaw it properly but ran it under cold water. I will say this is one of those restaurant which you come for the environment, but not the food. Highly NOT recommended
This place has the greatest ambience but taste doesn’t go along with it. I was expecting a lot more but the special platter we had ordered had weird tasting teriyaki sauce and the rolls were just mediocre. I wouldn’t go back here.
been hereon valentines day. we came all the way from burnaby and my kids love the food and of course me. the staff were all friendly. the place is so welcoming. definitely will come back!
Absolute disgust. I came here with my family on a Sunday evening to enjoy some sushi, however it turned from a restaurant into a warzone. The owner forced all his staff to sit around him while he ate and yelled at them in front of everyone in the restaurant! Some of the staff looked very distressed and since I can understand Korean, he was calling them trash and that they should go home if they cant do the job and that he could get someone to replace them just like that… I would hate working for a terrible employer like this one! I couldn’t believe how he had the nerve to yell at them in front of all the customers, it made everyone feel hostile and very unhappy in the restaurant. Not only that, he took our order and was unable to do his job while he complains about others not being able to the same work.. the food was dry and tasteless and wasn’t the best. I will be sticking with Umami Sushi in Cloverdale/Langley where they have FANTASTIC sushi and allow their guests to eat peacefully in an environment where there’s no employee abuse.
