Came here with the fam jam after my sons hockey lessons and it was packed! The wait wound up being much less than they estimated! There were 2 servers on the floor doing everything including hostessing, food running and bussing which was impressive! Our server was good considering how busy it was and she didnt seem like she was in the best mood (not unfriendly but all business and no warmth) but we couldnt help smiling at the other server (with colourful hair) because she was just so energetic, cheerful and so great with the kids and patrons at her tables. It started off slowly and took a while to take our order but once we did the food came fast and furious and our server was very attentive and quick. The food tasted great and everyone enjoyed their meals. The portions are massive! The onion rings and battered hot dog have the same batter as the fish. The fried oysters were YUM and the steak and mushroom pie had a great crust. The only thing I wasnt huge on was the tarter sauce. It tasted like the generic stuff you get at the grocery store.I would definitely recommend stopping by – I hear they have all you can eat during the weekdays!
i brought a group of seniors, who often enjoy fish & chip, here . though there is no reservation for their policy but staff was very friendly to recommend the time to come in to bit the rush hours. food was good and price was fair enough and staff Natasha was excellent fast and nice and efficient and very considerate. as a group with a big van or bus , it is good to park on street ( 10th St.) and get in and out of the side door with the staff permission. especially for seniors . we highly refer others to experience this English style fish & chip. and we had fun to learn all those slang and we gave every one a nickname such as Mary the Ferry : Faye and Hay: etc ……..
I have only been here for the all-you-can-eat fish and chips. So this is just a partial review and rating. The place looks nicer on the outside than the inside. This doesn’t mean that it’s ugly inside, not at all, just nicer outside. So, if it’s a nice summer day, definitelyseat outside. The food is good, I wasn’t blown away by either they fish or the fries. Again, I didn’t try other items in their menu, but I can tell you that I would go back here, just not regularly.
The fish and chips did taste good but nothing about the food, ambience, or service was memorable. It was very busy in there the two times that I have been there so people must see something that I don’t.
Best fish and chips I have had in 4 years. Being from Nova Scotia this is something I search for everywhere I live. The batter wasn’t heavy, was very light and crisp however will be trying the pan fried next time. Great food overall and good portions for price. Will be back many times and highly recommend if you like fish and chips.
Best fish and chips I’ve tried in Vancouver. The batter is perfection and the fries were plump and crunchy. The Calamari also had a really nice batter, so light and perfectly crisp. My only critique is that their tartar sauce could have used more pickles. thehappysloths.com
