I probably would never have tried Hiro if I didnt work nearby but its definitely one of my favourite spots for spicy scallop roll, spicy tuna roll & dynamite roll (AKA all the rolls that come in Spicy Combo A) Some places offer spicy chopped scallop, where they use too much mayo (cough Sushi California) and it comes smaller and often falls apart (cough Sushi Garden) But Hiros spicy scallop roll comes at a good size with the perfect amount of mayonnaise and spicy sauce. Their spicy tuna roll is seasoned and flavoured nicely, a few times the sushi chef added little bits of tempura in it which added a really nice texture to it. I guess it depends on who makes it, but I wished it was consistently like this because it was mind-blowingly good! And lastly their dynamite roll is amazing because of the avocado!!! They give you a generous amount of avocado and it is always perfectly ripe – something that another reviewer mentioned. I almost always order this spicy combo because its THAT tasty! Their bento box is also a really good deal and their chicken teriyaki is delicious All in all, its no Miku but definitely worth checking out if youre in the area and craving for sushi.

If I had known that I was going to be charged $5.45 for slimy mango on top of a plain california roll, I wouldn’t have ordered it. The sunomono has no flavour. The delivery was also 15 minutes late (1 hr to deliver 10 mins away). Won’t be returning. Burnaby has no lack of sushi restaurants, skip this place.

Nothing superb, but totally enough to satisfy your usual sushi cravings!Following similar concepts to Sushi Garden and Sushi California, the place does cheap rolls and generous portions of fish! Something unique about Hiro is that they have a combo menu where you can mix and match your own items for a set price.
If you know what Chinese sushi means…. It means soggy rice sushi. low quality. cheap price. I’m waiting for this place to go out of business. if you have any sushi standard….you will be disappointed.
What a terrible restaurant. Never go here.. the food was awful and so was the service. there are many restaurants with comparable, if not cheaper prices that have far better tasting dishes.
Not good, not bad. The restaurant is pretty average. The service wasn’t great. The only server there got our order wrong and didn’t even give us individual plates for food. The food was good. Nothing much to say about the food. When we tried to get the bill, it took us 3 times to finally get the waitress’ attention. The waitress was on her phone most of the time. All in all, i would go back for another meal. The prices were alright and food is fine. The only thing they should fix is their service.
